    M&S Regular Saver.

Can someone help me out here, I have a regular saver with M&S which should have matured on the 5th April that’s 3 days ago.

Are you sure of that date? Mine was due to end last Thursday.  I thought that I'd see the payout on Tuesday - but the funds were available - and extractable - on Good Friday.

They'd  got the sum right, too.  To the penny !

    Santander Regular Saver.

My Santander regular saver has just matured and the interest added.

Now I’m aware Santander tend to renew the reg savers without it being requested.

I stopped my standing order thinking that would put an end to the reg saver but no, I have a new one set up ‘Regular E Saver issue 12’ and all my savings from the previous one plus interest is within the account.

I expected the money to be moved out and start fresh, does this mean I could just use the account as an instant access account and continue to get 0.50% on my money, so month one onwards its 0.5% on £2400+

That can’t be correct, can it?

I choose the rooms that I live in with care,
The windows are small and the walls almost bare,
    There's only one bed and there's only one prayer;
I listen all night for your step on the stair.

It will be moved out in 2-3 days. You can however unofficially transfer it back in and they won't move it back.

But if I move it back, will they pay interest on it?

    Most likely yes, 0.5%.

Relatively ok for instant access but you can get better in other regular savers

This happened to me even though I'd stopped the standing order - it become a new saver at 0.5% and the balance moved to my current account after about 2 days. I then decided to close the 'new' saver and got an extra 10p in interest!

Yes, it's a relatively unknown loophole. I don't know how high it allows the balance to be but I've transferred £2,650 in as an initial lump sum for 5% in the past.

colsten yes I take that on board thanks but I think I have something like 15 regular savers on the go just now so not much left to get so I thought if I could keep a bit of cash in a 0.5% instant access account I would.
Just need to be sure Santander would pay out.

    Hi SS2,

The Lloyds Monthly Saver in post 6 is still showing as 1% - it's 0.75% now and I think should be removed as your post on the 28th March.
