Many Thanks to Special_Saver2 and Bridlington1 for your past, present and future endeavours on this subject (and indeed the many other posters who add to this thread). I post rarely, but read often and have found many tips greatly useful.

Special_Saver2 said:Hi Folks,
I have some news for you. I am handing over this thread to Bridlington1.
This is mainly because my priorities in life have changed with the recent arrival of a baby daughter. Although I have enjoyed creating this thread over 17 years ago and keeping it up to date since then, I would rather spend more time with my family right now and I imagine you can all understand this. The other reason is that I think Bridlington1 will do an amazing job of taking care of this thread!!!
We have agreed that tomorrow Bridlington1 will create a new thread based on the first page of this thread and then I will ask the moderators to close down this thread. I would entirely support Bridlington1 making any changes they wish and in particular changing the interest rate thresholds used for inclusion of accounts on this thread.
If you are a forum moderator and reading this message, then I would be grateful if you could post a message here or send me a private message as that will make things easier for me tomorrow when I need to find a moderator to close down this thread.
I would completely agree with the post by dcs34 on page 1675 suggesting adding the new Coventry BS Loyalty Seasonal Saver 6% (variable) account and also the post by Bridlington1 on page 1678 suggesting the addition of multiple other accounts (caused by the change in interest rate threshold that I suggested). I do not think I will have time to update the thread tonight or tomorrow so I will have to leave it to Bridlington1 but I think that is helpful in case Bridlington1 feels like changing the interest rate thresholds as that will affect the suggestions posted on page 1678.I will do another post tomorrow but let me take this opportunity to thank everybody who has participated in this thread and made it so successful over the years and thank Bridlington1 for taking over the thread!

For those new to this thread, the first few posts are regularly updated and are on the first page

In short, I really couldn't be any more grateful! Thank you so so much for the simply tremendous amount of work that you must have put into creating this thread, including all the many regular saver details at its start plus the frequent updates over time detailing new regular savings accounts, accounts that were no longer available, changes to existing accounts etc. This is/was, in my opinion, the very best thread in the Savings and Investments forum without any question whatsoever! And that is one heck of an achievement, considering there are quite a lot of other really good longstanding threads in this forum as well!
Please may I send you many congratulations on the recent arrival of your baby daughter and wish you only the very best as you spend plenty of quality time with her and the rest of your family from this point onwards! You have definitely chosen a very worthy successor in Bridlington1; I can't think of anybody more naturally suited than them to take over from you, with no disrespect to anyone else on here whatsoever!
@Bridlington1 My very best wishes to you for this new role of yours, taking over the regular saving mantle from Special_Saver2! As you are certainly one of the most knowledgeable and assured posters on this forum when it comes to dealing with regular savings accounts of all shapes and sizes, and also one of the most prolific current users of regular savers with, I understand, c.70 of these accounts within your saving portfolio at present, you are without doubt the most natural successor to Special_Saver2 right now imho. I've recently carried out a pretty thorough initial browse of the new regular saving thread that you've created, and it's really good that you've clearly built on Special_Saver2's considerable legacy whilst at the same time making a few notable amendments in order to (a) make the start of the new thread a little bit more concise and (b) link the the new thread as a whole directly to the updated and slightly modified No Chat regular saver archive thread. This is my very last post on what was / still is a very special and most invaluable thread, and I'm very much looking forward to contributing, when appropriate, to your new and very promising successor to it from now onwards!

My own MSE experience is pretty much a copy of @cricidmuslibale 's post above so I'm going to cheat and just put "what they said".
Congrats and thanks @Special_Saver2. Good luck and thanks @Bridlington1.7 -
@Special_Saver2
My experience is pretty much exactly that of cricidmuslibale's and I could not articulate it any better. Thank you so much for all of your work and efforts, which made this thread always my first port of call when I log in to the forum.
Enjoy the time with your baby daughter and cherish every moment. As I type this, I am waiting for my now adult daughter to arrive to celebrate her birthday. I can recall her being born as if it were yesterday. I always thought it a cliche when people tole me to make the most of every day with her - I now know it to be wise advice and no cliche at all.
Again, many thanks. Hopefully, you'll pop in from time to time.£6000 in 20232 -
