Apologies if noted already in the thread, the interest rate on this is dropping to 5.75% from December 17th, 2024.

Disappointing given how recently this was launched and the very narrow window it was available for. We'll be drawing ours down to the minimum now as we have a stack of unfunded 6%'ers.

Hopefully the rebrand of Beehive will bring something to replace it.

Yes, must be a quirk of lasting more than 1 year and maturing 30 November 2025.

Their terms also say you must pay in every month. Mine should be full by September, so not sure how that's going to work if the maximum balance gets enforced... Might have to juggle the last few payments down a little to leave enough room?

    Max account balance is £3,750.

Think you can only withdraw by cheque as well?
I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?
  • Gatehouse EA @5% formerly RS - how quick are withdrawals Monday to Friday and at weekends? I presume it will follow their equivalent available EA account @4.6% change of EPR when it occurs.
Hopefully, because this is "niche" product, at least the .4% differential will be maintained.
Gatehouse -- I put through a withdrawal instruction at 12:01am on Saturday and it only arrived at my bank after midday on Monday. So weekends are slower.

Cash up to £500 without notice, cash over £500 with notice, cheque or CHAPS (chargeable, IIRC £25). All from branch only.

No postal instructions? That could be a problem if so :/

Not as far as I know. We were told we could call up to ask about balances but anything else would require a branch visit (but to be clear I didn't press on postal instructions as branch proximity is not an issue 2 miles from Nottingham).

Principality BS to launch a 6 Month Regular Saver Issue 2 over the coming days.

No further details are known yet but the application link to the account has appeared on their website which implies Issue 1 at 8% shall be replaced within the next week or so.
Thanks for the heads up on this.
Has anyone heard anything more on the issue 2? I am in two minds at the moment whether to close the existing and open another one. It would currently take more than a 1.5% drop in interest rate to make it worthwhile versus letting the existing one run to the 23rd.
This is also dependent on whether both issues can be open at the same time too.

If I was a betting man I would suspect that this will be launched on 5th December when their flexible rates drop and it will be at a lower rate than at present. If you want to maximise your interest, would close now perhaps, reopen and then see what happens. In the very unlikely event it’s something better, you can always close and reopen again.

    Principality BS 6 Month Saver.

I requested closure online on Friday evening. Account still hasn't been closed. Be careful if you're hoping to get a new one set up before the existing issue goes NLA!
