  • How do you close the Coventry easy access account once you've transferred out the funds? Can it be done through the app?

Login via desktop, view the account.
    Top right, Account details.
Lower down the page, Close account.

Coventry Loyalty Regular Saver maturity - slightly better option is to close the easy access saver (there is a close account option via payments). Still next day payment to your nominated account but you don`t have another account probably with a few pence in it cluttering up your home page.
Is there any chance of a replacement Coventry Loyalty RS?
News today from the Co-Op via email this morning states that Coventry are to buy them out as of the 1st January, 2025, so with that in mind and the fact that the Co-Op already run a 7% Regular Saver, then probably not likely, but you never know :)
I decided to close my Co-op RS this morning and reapplied for a fresh fixed 7% RS which will be up and running tomorrow, as I doubt that when Conventry takes over they will offer a better rate, so I see it as the Loyalty Saver already on offer @ a lovely 7% Fixed Rate ;):D:smile:
My Coventry LRS matured today 28th but its still not been transferred into an easy saver account with interest, yet. I know some had their accounts swap over late yesterday, so no doubt I'll have to ring them soon to find out what the issue is. If it's anything like the TSB App meltdown at 4am this morning which locked me out of all my accounts meaning I had to re-register for internet banking but there were ongoing faults online so had to phone again to get it done manually over the phone :|:/ It took an hour to resolve :o:/

5.00% variable 2 year term.  £200 pm max, limited access.

Do existing online customers with Penrith find they get their new account details immediately or a message saying there are further checks to be carried out?

In my experience, i always seems to get the latter..

It was next day for me. I.e. I applied late last night as a new customer, could login lamost immediately, and I had all the remaining details by 10am this morning. My deposit doesn't show yet as that seems to take another day but there was a CoP match, so it will all sort itself.

Applied at 0930 this morning as a new customer, registration e-mail with online login activation details received at 0951 and then another e-mail arrived at 1129 to say the account has been added and to login for details and then deposit made, however not showing as received  4 hours later.
Seeing as they use the same platform as Chorley/MonBS I assume it won't get updated til overnight.

Agree that the Co-op 7% Regular Saver is, indeed, lovely.

What it isn't however is Fixed.

    <QUOTE>

Can The Co-operative Bank change the interest rate?

Yes, the interest rate is variable, which means it can go up or down.

    <\QUOTE>

They have said that the rate is NOT reducing on 22/01/25 unlike their other savings products.

Do you have to contact CS to get this account closed?

I have received the following email from Progressive BS:

This email is to advise that the Society has reviewed the interest rate payable on Online Regular Rainy Day Saver Acc 2. The interest rate will reduce from 5% Gross*/AER** (variable) to 4.75% Gross*/AER** (variable) and the change will be effective from 10/12/2024.

We will contact you approximately 14 days before the maturity date of your bond to remind you that your bond is about to mature. You are unable to close your bond or make a withdrawal until the bond matures. On maturity, the bond will roll into a variable rate instant access account, at the interest rate available at that time.

I thought this account allowed withdrawals or have I got that wrong?

Initially Co-op sent out letters after application stating it was a fixed rate account, which they later corrected.
