Whilst I can't say for certain due to the Ts&Cs not being available (most Principality BS customer service staff probably won't know Issue 2 is going to be launched yet), in the past whenever they've launched a new issue of one of their regular savers they've let you have the new issue alongside the old one so I suspect you shall be able to apply for Issue 2 and hold it alongside Issue 1.

They seem to be morphing the regular saver into an easy access @ 5%.

Account number is same as regular saver was apart from first 3 letters are now supposed to be ERG instead of REG, thats what i can make out from their message earlier. Unless they have made a mistake in the message and the ERG is supposed to read REG, wouldnt be surprised at that either.

I thought  l wouldn't  be able to just walk in a grab a piece of 5% cake!:)

Mine begins with REG, the account number didn't change.

My letter says ERG .... my account is still showing REG but at 5%

Edit ..... it also says you can add to the account ..... at the moment I wouldn't dare try as it still says REG. Maybe  I could either withdraw or add tomorrow depending on which way the wind is blowing

I think ‘ERG’ is the noise someone from Gatehouse will make tomorrow if they realise they’ve accidentally created a market leading Easy Access account

I got a "Account has matured" email saying there is an online secure message. Once logged in, the secure message contained an attached letter. It's all a bit haphazard (at least they are consistent!) with the letter saying ERG but the account still showing REG. I hope it will sort itself out tomorrow.

I was able to open the Issue 2 RS at 5.30% on 3/11/24 when it was available. I wasn't sure if it was in the rules to have two RSs but my first deposit is still there and I'll be making another on Monday. I've not been advised of any change in the interest rate - so this is another mystery yet to unravel. Whether there is to be a new RS is 'under review' according to the website.
