Halifax does not permit to take out funds but allows early closure. Can you reopen a new RS straight after or are you blocked from opening until the 12 months are up, similar like TSB?

There's no exclusion period in the terms (unlike Lloyds and BOS, which allow withdrawal but only allow 1 per year, albeit unenforced).

You may or may not find you need to wait overnight before you can open a new regular saver account.

There is a "no re-open within 12 months" rule for Halifax RS but doesn't seem to be enforced. However, this may change, so close early with a view to re-opening at your own risk.

No, there isn't. Halifax's offer works differently to Lloyds and BOS.

EDIT: Actually looking at the terms for BOS there's nothing about 1 every 12 months in there, but it is in the wording on their site. Lloyds do state you won't be able to open one until anniversary on both their site and their terms, for the Club Lloyds Regular Saver but that term isn't enforced. Same for the standard Monthly Saver.

    Wonderful consistency from LBG here...

Either way it's present on neither the website nor the terms for Halifax, ergo there's nothing in writing to stop you from applying for a new account straight after early closure of an existing one.

There was never such rule for Halifax RS, is it something new?
  • I think the only one I've seen personally that blocks you completely from reopening within 12 months (due to building validation into their systems) is TSB.

I haven't received any communication about it yet.

I think the draw must have been postponed, I didn't receive my prize payment  :D
