I did likewise, e.g. if there was an account I wanted to open with a provider that accepted debit card payments, I would use NatWest to secure it. I would also pay the odd pence off the end of a bill (only), as odd numbers annoy me unless roundups are involved.

I had stopped funding/withdrawn from NatWest in favour of 7%+ accounts so am pretty much starting again as of this month.

According to Moneyfacts, Principality Building Society are launching a new account called, 1 Year Triple Access Regular Saver, paying 6.00%.

Pay in £1 - £50 per month.  The maximum investment is £600.

It permits 3 penalty-free withdrawals during the term of the account.  The account matures after one year.

It will be available to open online and in branch.

The account should appear amongst the list of accounts on the Principality BS webpage once launched, here.

Also the 2Y HH RS at 6% appears to have disappeared from moneyfacts suggesting it will soon go NLA.

EDIT: Application link for 1Y Triple Access RS now live:

Account not yet showing on their website though the link is active.  At the time of writing the Healthy Habits Saver Bond still showing on their website.  Maybe website will be updated later today.
Will open one but intrigued to know whether it will be fixed or variable. Moneyfacts doesn’t show this as far as I can see.
I opened and funded the account when I guessed the link. Interest rate is variable:

I didn't think there will be any more 6% offers from any providers, was surprised to see it.  Opened the account and funded straight away.  Only £50 pm and no 13th payment but every little helps to maximise the return.

I too have withdrawn and reduced funding Nat West and RBS to £1 month, as I need to push the interest into the next tax year. I will exceed my PSA this year again, so I'm funding my lowest interest rate RS accounts with the smallest amount that I can.

For paying in you should select business, Principality Building Society, sort code, account number, reference number.

You'll see this info at end of application, in online account & in email

Principality Building Society, selecting 'Business Account.' As I'm already funding a Principality account via Chase and they only save one reference now, I have today's new addition and the 2 Year Healthy Habits saved to my Nationwide payees with the descriptions '1Yr Triple Access' and '2Yr Fix' respectively.

A pain if your bank don't have a description field, as you need the reference to be the account number as you say.

I selected personal account, and used my usual naming convention for the account name. I knew this couldn't match, and I simply accepted the mismatch.

My usual naming convention is LCbankxxxx, where bank is Princ for Principality, and xxxx the last four digits of the Reference or the Account Number where I have a personal account number. That way I can easily identify which of my several Principality accounts the payment is for.

My approach is similar. Always set them up as Business and use a meaningful description, otherwise (as is my case) I'd end up with four "Principality Building Society"s and needing to use the Ref as the determinant. That's bound to lead to mistakes.
I thought I read somewhere that the eventual intention was to strictly apply account verification so you couldn't pay to an account where there was a mismatch, meaning our aproach would no longer work. Hopefully that's either not true or a long way off.
