I'm new to all of this savings stuff and have opened and maxed out the accounts listed on the MSE website.

I've opened a NatWest 6.17% Regular Digital Saver, is there anything stopping me opening a RBS one too?
Nope, may as well have them both open as there's only a £150 max deposit a month limit so will take a long time to max each one out at £5000
I have previously read on here of people being able to max one out within a month using double round ups. I maxed out both of mine in around 7-8 months.
I don't understand the round up trick or whatever people call it, but generally speaking it's a £150 deposit a month per brand
    https://www.natwest.com/savings/tools-for-savings/round-ups.html

Make a debit card transaction for an odd amount (eg. £1.01) and NatWest will round up the transaction to £2, and put the difference (99p) into a nominated savings account. They also offer a double round-up version, which allows £1.98 to be saved each transaction.
Seems like a faff especially as I don't use NatWest/RBS for everyday spending 🤣

If only we could deposit more in the "normal" way or just lump sum to max out quicker.

I'd be done by now if so.

Anyone got a history for the Digital Savers?, am I right it used to be £50 max &/or the rate might have been lower?.

I'm thinking I didn't deposit for a while because better savings came along.
It used to be £50/mth with the top rate paid on balances up to £1k. I kept both of mine at £1k for a while and skimmed the interest off each month. They then later raised the limits to £150/mth with the top rate being paid on balances of up to £5k.

For double round ups on a large scale many just deposit into a savings account that allows debit card deposits

Don’t try it with Skipton. They don’t like it and threaten you with account closure

Revolut also reportedly take a dim view of it as well...

Personally, I think it's firmly in the "possible, but not advisable" category.

Use Paypal and make 0.01 payments to a family member you trust via Friends & Family payment. You can do 99 transaction per day with the card. Make sure you have sufficient funds in the account as you otherwise make the transactions but not get anything transferred over. There is a risk of trouble by maxing out 99 a day over a few weeks to fill it up but it is doable. Used to do it while sitting in boring work tele conferences so the time was not entirely wasted.

Thats interesting. Many years ago (around 12 i think), I found there was a limit on the amount of debit card transactions I could carry out per day on my card, around 14 or 15 of them. I hit it and called in to find out why I was being declined on doing more and was told about it. It did reset automatically at midnight.

I've never done more than 10 in a day per account since then, nor really had much reason to need to.

NatWest round ups - make small council tax payments on line for £2.01, £3.01 etc.  Keep the amounts unique so you can reconcile your accounts more easily.  (Your council / Capita will love you!)

I did likewise, e.g. if there was an account I wanted to open with a provider that accepted debit card payments, I would use NatWest to secure it. I would also pay the odd pence off the end of a bill (only), as odd numbers annoy me unless roundups are involved.

I had stopped funding/withdrawn from NatWest in favour of 7%+ accounts so am pretty much starting again as of this month.

According to Moneyfacts, Principality Building Society are launching a new account called, 1 Year Triple Access Regular Saver, paying 6.00%.

Pay in £1 - £50 per month.  The maximum investment is £600.

It permits 3 penalty-free withdrawals during the term of the account.  The account matures after one year.

It will be available to open online and in branch.

The account should appear amongst the list of accounts on the Principality BS webpage once launched, here.

Also the 2Y HH RS at 6% appears to have disappeared from moneyfacts suggesting it will soon go NLA.

EDIT: Application link for 1Y Triple Access RS now live:
    https://online.principality.co.uk/Originations/launchpage.aspx?productType=eSaver&productCode=9052#!
Account not yet showing on their website though the link is active.  At the time of writing the Healthy Habits Saver Bond still showing on their website.  Maybe website will be updated later today.
Will open one but intrigued to know whether it will be fixed or variable. Moneyfacts doesn’t show this as far as I can see.
I opened and funded the account when I guessed the link. Interest rate is variable:

I didn't think there will be any more 6% offers from any providers, was surprised to see it.  Opened the account and funded straight away.  Only £50 pm and no 13th payment but every little helps to maximise the return.
