If you deposit today with a debit card, you won't start earning interest until next Tuesday.
Far better to do a faster payment.3 -
I set up the Nationwide 8% savings yesterday, transferred £200 from my normal account but hope I have now set up a SO from 2nd February going forward. It would not accept the SO for yesterday 31st January. Decided not to do it from the 1st Feb.Paddle No 21:wave:0

Decided not to do it from the 1st Feb.Congatulations on making first deposit on last day of January meaning you can have £400 earning 8% from early February. Maximum deposit of £200 per "calendar month" allowed, so second deposit by SO for 31January would not be allowed and anyway it can take up to 2 "working days" to set up a SO. You would have been marginally better off doing your 2nd deposit manually by FP today 1st February than setting up your SO to start 2nd February. This way your SO`s would start on the 1st of March. When setting up your SO`s make your final payment for 1st January 2025 so that you manage to get in 13 payments. Obviously review your account and payments, if Nationwide reduce the variable interest rate.Above strategy gives you the best return and is a guide to best practice.2

francoghezzi said:I opened the Loyalty Skipton RS on January 11th and paid in immediately the first £250. Tonight I tried to send the second deposit but it was refused. Contrary to what stated by someone on this Forum it appears that the deposits are not per calendar month, so in my case I might wait till February 11th to be able to deposit again. Am I right? Anyone had the same experience?I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?0

YBS Christmas Regular eSaver 2024. How many withdrawals are allowed ??In the KPI it is stated:"Withdrawals
The Christmas Regular eSaver 2024 account allows you unlimited number of withdrawals from your account on
one day during the term. Withdrawals are instant and if required you can close your account even if you haveused your withdrawal day"It is stated "unlimited number of withdrawals", but it is also stated "on one day"Does it mean- you could only make withdrawal on one particular day of your choice. ??- In this particular day you could make unlimited number of withdrawals- You cannot make another withdrawal on another date (?)Is my understanding correct ? If this was the case it is quite odd calling it unlimited number of withdrawals. Any info lead will be very much appreciated.thx0 -

My YBS 6 access E-ISA allows me to make withdrawals on 6 days of the year. Yesterday, I had to make two separate withdrawals (£1000 and £750) and used up one of my withdrawal days. I have 5 more days left.
I passed on the YBS and opened a TSB monthly instead because TSB offered 1 yr fixed rate and unlimited easy access.1
