Having too much time on my hands courtesy of trying to avoid catching COVID, I’ve applied for West Brom after all. The Summary Box downloaded during the application process also says that you don’t have to deposit every month, so I’ll send £10 once open and get my online access sorted before funding any further.
Received my EA account number this morning so applied this evening (this way the overnight run mentioned by some posters will have been completed before it is processed, and should it be pulled at the beginning of Jan, hopefully it’ll be honoured.)2 -
Just a reminder that the following building societies pay interest on their regular savers tomorrow:

I've got a Tipton & Coseley regular saver iss3 that I took out in September........why would that be paying interest in December ? I thought the interest was added to the account at the end of the term.1

I don't know about a Regular Saver Issue 3, but the Fixed Rate Regular Saver is already showing the interest (in the app).subjecttocontract said:I've got a Tipton & Coseley regular saver iss3 that I took out in September........why would that be paying interest in December ? I have Issue 1 and 2, and an easy access account at Tipton. All showing interest payments dated today, with amounts earned to date. It’s in line with the Tipton T&Cs.10_66 said:

That's why you should always read the summary when opening accounts.subjecttocontract said:I've got a Tipton & Coseley regular saver iss3 that I took out in September........why would that be paying interest in December ? I thought the interest was added to the account at the end of the term.
Why? BS operate various ways, some work to calendar years, some work to society years, but they will all also work to tax years.
Interest can be payable at anytime, many pay at their determined point as well as at maturity/closure.0 -

I've also got the Chorley and Cambridge instant accesses which I keep for new products.4 -
Nothing on Cambridge Instant yet - I’m guessing it will show on 2nd January due to that being the first working day after the scheduled payment date.
Edited to add that like Cambridge, Nationwide pay interest on EAs on December 31 - but their RS’s are anniversary and/or closure.

Buckinghamshire Building Society Regular Savers (open-ended): annual interest not yet showing (payment date is 31st December, I seem to recall interest showing on New Year's Day in previous years). Great feeling to get interest to welcome the New Year (sad, I know!)
Leeds BS Two Year Regular Saver Issue 36 (matures on 5th Jan 2025): half-time interest should show next Friday0 -
Mansfield BS Kick Start Regular Savings (7th Issue)
As far aș I can tell, min £25 deposits must be made monthly. But anyone know what happens if deposits aren't made monthly? Would the account be closed penalty free, or would they put on a 90 day interest penalty?
Similarly, if two or more withdrawals have been made in a year, no withdrawals or closure can be done without 90 day interest penalty. Anyone know what would happen if we just didn't pay in? Would it get closed penalty free, or would they implement a penalty, or just let it run?
