Looks like a great way of tracking your progress and pretty amazing achievement over 12 months.
I'm now under a year from finally clearing my mortgage. I could have cleared it around 10 years ago but as with you I kept my investments and added to them instead of large overpayments. Investments are now 20x the value of the mortgage so it has paid off. I'm also using Vanguard for my current investments, previous ones are all with iWeb as no annual fees so pretty big saving there but they have buying/selling charges. Vanguard have annual fee of 0.15% but no buying or selling costs so better for new money.Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.5 -

But if you want to really understand bitcoin from its value proposition, to how to buy it safely etc, you'll need to read a few blogs / books / youtube..
Controlling the private keys gives you sovereignty and is in the spirit of bitcoin... it means you truly own the coins and literally no one can take them from you (as long as you protect the keys).

1st November is here and the Christmas music is on the radio already...
My wife is into her last two weeks of work then off for maternity.. the day draws nearer!!
I normally do my proper updates mid-month, as that's when things like my monthly direct debits on index funds are finalised, but over the weekend I actually closed the gap (for now!!) on being mortgage neutral!
This is made up of mainly index funds, some cash, and a bit of Bitcoin (15%)... I am acutely aware of how volatile Bitcoin can be and we're sitting at near all-time highs, so I am not getting carried away just yet...
I will update my stats properly mid-month, but I am a bit surprised this has happened so quickly. Looking back at my original post I was projecting 2025 for this to happen. Getting a new job with a good pay rise has helped the cause.
I will now of course need to make new goals and change some parameters!!

Well done on being mortgage neutral just before baby no 2 and being so far ahead. I think focus on a clear goal really just helps us get there faster.
Markets are rebounding so I am sure even if crypto comes back he index funds will bounce a little more over coming months - my investments are back and recovered from that 6 week loss but thus no gain over 2 months so I expect to see something soon though I dont own any crypto.DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Thanks! @LadyWithAPlan - you are dead right, if anything I nerd out a little bit too much over my little spreadsheets, but they keep things organised and ticking along!!2
