That 0.16% extra is 8p per year for each £50 in the account for the full year so the the gain in interest isn't much. Personally I'm happy to risk a paltry amount for the hope of winning £100.1

The odds of winning the £100 are actually quite good for an extra bonus.

I live in Northern Ireland and so Nationwide say I can’t open this account (something to do with our antiquated gambling laws). But it got me wondering how I can invest in premium bonds, which work on the same principle. Not sure if anyone knows the answer?Northern Ireland club member No 382 :j0
