A sadness that so many OS stalwarts aren't here now isn't it?

Just my thought.....
I prefer Internet Explorer and the whole MSE  forum is useless on that, all scrunched up.
I have to use Edge to access it now......and I hate Edge.
Maybe others feel the same?

I think that's partly true but I also remember her buying a MacBook with a student discount from one of her grandchildren. As she was very elderly I think she probably CBA with learning how to use the new system.

Ha.  Jackie O was not ` very elderly`!  In her 70`s but how do you assess very elderly!

IE is old technology and no longer supported which is why the site is not optimised to use it now. 

I use Firefox, there's also Chrome.

I had her down as 73-75, around the same age as my own mum. So not very elderly at all!

I admired Jackie O, for her resilience. I didnt see her as very old. The very fact she drove a big car around the M25 had me in awe of her. 
I dont think she used an old desktop PC either, she would not have taken that to the Isle of wight or to the many places around the UK she visited and posted from.

Such a shame she has made that decision but we surely have to respect it, and not try to dissect the whys, just accept it and move on.

The same age as me!  Everything still works, including my brain and nothing's fallen off yet.....lots more years in this old hulk yet I hope, life is too much fun to consider leaving it behind!

But it's not down to what individuals prefer.
It is as it is.
Work with it or vote with your feet (hopefully after having given it a fair trial).

I doubt it'll survive the end of the year unless they make some radical changes. Depends on who's paying the bills and what they think they still need a forum for

Agree, depends who is paying & if it's making money for them. I used to belong to a money forum, shares, savings, that sort of thing. But they decided we were not generating an income by buying through them, so forum, savings & shares tracking closed. My guess would be it's only buying through links on MSE  that keep it going, once the Golden Goose stops laying it gets it's neck wrung

I'm not sure what happened or when, but didn't Martin sell MSE a few years ago ?
Anyway, I'm trying to post with the consideration that what we're calling 'MSE' is simply the medium for a wider community - the former. Dunno if that makes sense, too much fresh air today...
