Ignored my PCN

I have been on the newbie thread and am Still struggling to understand what i can do if anything regarding a PCN. (parking charge notice)
Basically i didnt pay the parking as the machine didnt work and i had a child with me that was covered in sick. I didnt try and find a working machine as my child was my priority. I ignored the Parking charge notice and now it is at the stage of debt collectors asking for 160.00 or they will send this back to the creditors who may take me to court.
I have read that i should ignore the debt collectors. Which i will do theu dont scare me. But i will pay the PCN of 100.00 due to me ignoring the initial letter.
The PCN is in line with BPA. They do have my name and address and photos of the car there.
I didnt appeal and do not have any proof machine was out of order.
Do i have a chance of even getting out of this and what do i do now
Thanks

Thats where i was supposed to pay the fine to0 -
It's not a fine , it's an invoice
Too late to appeal , you missed the boat
Post #4 deals with debt collector letters , and ignoring them
Your best option is the fist piece of advice in that Newbies FAQ sticky thread , namely a landowner cancellation0 -
It is in a retail park who would be the landowner in this case? About 20 retailers there. How do i find out who the landowner is?0

You now have to wait up to six years ti see if they start recovery proceedings in court. If tyhey do come back to us. Meanwhile as nine times out of ten these tickets are scams, so consider complaining to your MP., it can cause the scammer extra costs and work, and in some cases, cancellation.
Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, many of whom are former clampers, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.
Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.1 -
Ask a retailer
Google the site in case it's done up before, name the site on here
Ask the council who pays the non domestic business rates
Pay the land registry a small fee1 -
Thank you all. Will contact my mp and contact a retailer to find out and make complaint. Dont want to give up on this as its absolutely dusgusting. Thanks once again. The debt collectors do not scare me so thats one plus x2

Good for you for fighting it. Whatever you do, do not ignore letters of/before claim or court claims.0
-
Sorry can you clarify what you mean.
Should i be contacting the care parking to plead my case as in a previous thread soneone has said that the timescle is dubious as to when you respond as an appeal.0 -
You can try to appeal to Care Parking - it may well be rejected as out of time - but, if it comes to small claims court, at least you can show the judge that you tried to resolve it. If you are out of time to appeal to Care Parking and POPLA, then the next stage would be debt collectors letters which you can ignore, followed by a letter of claim from Care Parking indicating that they want to take it to small claims court, which you cannot ignore. All this is explained in the NEWBIE sticky.1
