The lesson here...  Always take a photo of your meter reading if they install a new meter.
Also check your IHD as you can usually see the meter reading there as well...

My Libra 310P is still doing the occasional unexplained spike, but not enough to affect the bill meaningfully. Ignore the 'kWh' reference, it is wrong, the readings are m3 ...
The meter is glitching, just not enough to need intervention at this point.

If your reading are in m3 i would think these spikes are cause for concern already as in the 2nd image it makes up around 33% of your days total.
How often is this happening ?
On the actual meter is the letter 'b' next to the reading ?

First, a correction, my meter is not the 310p, it is a G470, sorry about that.
The incidence is rare, twice in the last 3 months, and yes the magnitude of the spike is high, but the impact is still only about £0.75 on the day that it happened.
No sign of a 'b' or any other battery problem, all 30 min data samples seem to be recorded, no missed periods.
While this is as rare as it is, I've advised my supplier so they have it on record, but I'm not expecting any action at this point.
If anything changes then I'll have the previous reports to reference.

Hi, I have this meter and I think I have an issue with it. Where do you get these readings from please?

Hi, I have this meter and I think I have an issue with it. Where do you get these readings from please?
These come from my supplier (Octopus) online portal.
I have just managed to reconcile all my 30 min data with my meter totals and I can now confirm that the 30 min data is actually unreliable.
Billing is based off of the meter totals so it has not actually affected what I pay.
The 30 min data though is often incorrect, apparently due to the way the data is collected and transmitted to Octopus.
Odds are the meter itself is correct as these spikes do not actually get included in the total once you also allow for the periods where the 30 min data gives incorrect lower numbers.
So in short the spikes were easy to spot but were not the only incorrect data. The meter total however is correct at all times.
    What problem are you experiencing?

I was ready to send in my gas reading to Bulb yesterday. I have a Landis + Gyr Libra 310P and noticed my usage had jumped up quite a lot. 1300 units usage for 1 month. I usually use approx 110 a month this time of the year. Last month my usage was also up a bit but not a lot up an extra 40 units, I thought nothing about this until I read this months. I checked my usage during the night last night with all gas appliances off & I used 6 units. Definitely something wrong. I could only do an online chat with Bulb about this they said nothing could be done for a few months because of the Covid 19 issue. I asked for the meter to be checked, he said it would be done then.

Feeling a bit frustrated to say the least.

I haven't read the whole thread so please forgive me if I've missed something!
Are you absolutely sure you haven't got a gas leak on the house side of the meter? Have you done a gas pressure test?
I only ask, because this happened to me many years ago and the culprit turned out to be a gas pipe under the kitchen floor leading to the cooker. It was in its own cavity underneath the wayroc floor, but had not been properly covered and the constant footfall caused a small piece of debris to pierce the gas pipe with a pin !!!!!! of a hole which was sufficient to cause a leak.
    Just a thought.

The OP would have had an explosion by now if a leak had resulted in that level of consumption.

Also having problems with a Landis Gyr Libra 310p - winter quarter bill was a bit high, so I started having a look to see where the usage was coming from - filling baths and doing the volume x energy required calculations, etc (it's amazing what you find to do, when you don't want to do the things you're supposed to be doing!).  Anyway, long story short, the readings continued to go up even when the gas was turned off at the meter.  I got an engineer out yesterday, who confirmed there was no leak (phew). Turned gas off again overnight last night; in 9 hours overnight, the reading had gone up a massive 28 m3, equivalent to 313 kWh.  Definitely something wrong with the meter.

Have a close look at the display and see if there is a small 'b' showing, if so that will mean the battery is running out and needs replacing.
