Not me.I'd far rather see a preview of a post when hovering (...otherwise people must click into a post of unknown interest). And it still remains more than exceedingly difficult, if I want to copy a forum thread to Word (or whatever) to keep for future reference (unless someone can give me a clue !).1

What is obvious is that whatever the format of the forum some forumites struggle to be kind and are constantly on the attack.badger09 said:

I'd be interested from any forumites / MSE itself if this is true.
The grammar police are still here
.... Im.not keen on the ubiquitous 'Forumite' label.

That's a great tip, thanks for that!eskbanker said:It's undoubtedly clunkier but viable to split like this response without editing in HTML. I realised by accident that using the 'quote' button multiple times puts multiple copies into the editor, which can then be hacked about to your heart's content!0 -
Where have the post numbers gone? You used to be able to write …."See post #45" …. unless it's my settings, no posts seem to have a number any more!Compiler of the RS League Table.

You can link to a given post:- Click on Report
- Select Report
- Right-click on the highlighted title (Re:........)
- select Copy Link Address
- cancel the Report dialogue
- paste the copied link into your post

Not sure if it's really significantly smarter but another way mentioned on other threads is to access the poster's profile (from the avatar icon) and select the 'replies' option once there. The link address can then be copied from the list of replies, although this can become cumbersome if having to scroll through multiple pages to find the one to link....colsten said:

Ignore, accidental duplicate - admins, feel free to delete this or tell me how to!0

Not without leaving the thread area. You could right click on the poster's name to open their profile in a new tab, then look at their Replies to see the one on this thread that you want, and right click to copy the hyperlink to their post from there. Either way, you end up with a hyperlink to their post in a similar number of clicks.colsten said:

That's the only way I found. So here's the link to your post. May be someone else knows of a smarter way of linking?
As an aside, MSE_Tine confirmed Friday that they are going to work on adding post numbers in threads, so doesn't seem that we'll need convoluted workarounds forever:

Not being able to delete posts, for example when you make a duplicate posting, is a bit annoying.

Indeed - I'm acutely aware of the irony of trying to offer assistance with how to use the new forum, inadvertently duplicating it via simple finger trouble (quoted rather than edited my post) and then finding that this is irreversible!masonic said:Not being able to delete posts, for example when you make a duplicate posting, is a bit annoying.2
