My contract with Plusnet ends 03rd March, they are offering LRS £197.88 up front, (£16.49 per month), for 12 months.

Am looking at Now broad band, via TCB , (£80.00),

    Effective monthly cost: £11.33.

However there seems to be a lot of bad reviews for Now broadband. Any thoughts on joining them?

essentially it is the same as Sky Broadband with a rebadged router from Sky to NOW

    Hope this helps
  • After running over my contract with EE and paying £45 per month for fibre + anytime calls including mobiles, I decided to shop around and came up with NB as the package was the closest (£25) but without mobile calls.
I then called EE to see what deal they could offer me and I was told they could give me the same deal as I already have for £31, but with a bit of haggling, I managed to get it down to £28 (£25 without mobiles calls). And that still includes free mobiles, so to me, that is worth the extra £3 per month.

The bottom line is, always give your present supplier a call and see what they can do. If you get nowhere, then threaten to leave and see what reaction you get.

To my amazement, I only had to mention the Now deal and PlusNet matched it (October). However, when my sister tried a few days ago, they were not interested in the competition, but they did have a special to compete with Now ,as the deal had its own title. There were ongoing billing problems, though, as the system couldn't deal with the offer.

£100 Cashback via quidco untill 11pm. Only just realised, as I needed to wait until today to switch.
    Fab Fibre and anytime calls @ £22 x 12months = £264
    minus £100 cashback
= effective monthly cost of £13.67
