Nelski - sorry to hear your news -it must have been such a shock for you. You'll be pleased to be home.
I'm going to miss reading Jackie O's posts - she was always so busy
Well I'm sitting in bed feeling sorry for myself. On Sunday I was really dizzy and achy and diagnosed with an inner ear infection. Went to work Tuesday and Wednesday but didn't feel right....sore throat, achy, sore face and a really painful tongue! Went to doctors last night and I've got shingles. I have the spots on my tongue and in my throat rather than on my body. She gave me anti viral tablets and hopefully I'll be a lot better in a week. But I'm meant to be going to visit eldest DD in Sweden next Wednesday!
Worried as baby grand daughter has a compromised immune system and I've been with her a lot lately. Doctor says not to see her for a week, same with my parents. DD is to monitor her temperature closely...hopefully she'll not get chicken pox. If she does she'll have to be admitted to hospital.
Hope everyone else is having a better day!

Morning all,
I am still upset at the loss of our JackieO, also at Nelskis illness, be careful Nelski, rehab can seem very slow but you will be fine if you go along with the rehab team.
We had no rain during the night......storm Dennis is promised for the weekend......really looking forward to that!
Am hoping to transplant some foxglove and daisies plants that have selfseeded into the veggie bed.......hope it works as I love both and want them in the bed near the front gate.
Have a good day all

Hope dp1 recovers soon and that little one doesn't catch anything xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.9 -
Morning all, it's been raining all night and this morning.Oh Nelski my BFF I was shocked to read your news. I wish I lived nearby as I would have liked to give you the biggest gentle hug in person
. I really hope that you can get back to you very soon.xx
dp1 Hugs to you, please take care of yourself and I hope that your DGD doesn't get the chicken pox.Hugs to everyone who is having a hard time for whatever reason. We were out early this morning to go to watch DGS in his class assembly called "Magic and Mayhem" as Harry Potter is their topic this term. DGS played Harry Potter and made everyone laugh with his antics. After that we were invited to his classroom where I was "mugged " for £5 for raffles, tea, umpteen biscuits and some Harry Potter items, but he did buy a note book for his sister too
Next I called in the surgery to collect my script and make an appointment with the GP, next available one was March 3rd. On then to the pharmacy to fill my script and eventually home. I got soaked 3 times !. This afternoon we will go to DD's to sort out Jasper dog, then pick up the DGC from school and I bet we get soaked again ! Back here for tea ( small roast dinner ) then DD will pick up later as she's on chaperone duty at her school disco and DSiL has parents evening at his. Phew ! I'll be glad to put my feet up tonight
Retirement Pah ! what's that when it's at home
Take care allnan xx

Morning all,I'm sorry to see so many of you with health problems, sending get well wishes to all.Nelski I'm so sorry to see your news, what an awful shock for you - ((hugs))Had fun with DGS staying last night, first time he's stayed without DS being here but he was fine and DS facetimed him at teatime.Took him to school this morning, then DH dropped me at the SM and I walked home after. I wanted to get a few bits I'd missed off my delivery, inc some veg as I've joined WW for 3 months - I thought if I had to post my weight it might make me more motivated.I'm carrying on with some decluttering today, especially DGC cupboard.I tried a bit last night with a box of 4 jigsaws DGS never even opened from xmas over a year ago, but he spotted it and of course wanted to do it, they were a bit hard so DH and I did 1 each with him- dinosaurs!Have the best day you can xx:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning all! Got up early again ut was waylaid doing stuff. I'm going out in a bit to find someone to wash my car, or i will with the pressure wash [but it's cold and I don't want to get wet]...I'm not planning anything else today, i cleaned the car to within an inch of it's life yesterday, put new mats in it, and it looks lovely [on the inside...] I do sporadically clean it, but I usually get someone else to do it...Sausage casserole was made last night, so that's todays food, OH went out to discuss stuff with a friend so I had the leftover fajita mix last night. No need for any more cooking this week because we're supposed to be going to London tomorrow afternoon....In my heart of hearts I don't really want to go because I'm not feeling particularly confident, I just want to hide in my house, but if I don't go, I'll be giving in to my fears and that's not a thing I'm willing to do because that way, who knows where it ends?Right, time for breakfast....Probably scrambled eggs on toast if the bread isn't mouldy...:)Nels, what a sh*t thing to happen. Don't push yourself too hard to recover too quick, have you got help? Do you need some? DP1, hope you've ket the shingles to yourself...hpe you're not infectious in time for your trip! Nanny, you'd better have a hot bath and pj time...Hey all reading along, Tiresome thursday....Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi13

OMG I go shopping and when I check back there's all sorts of bad news on the Daily. NELSKI that was quite a shock, I hope you can make a full recovery in time but baby steps please. You can't rush these things. DP! too what a horrible thing to happen just before your trip. Hope you are able to go. Plus news that JACKIE is leaving us. I can't say I like the new layout myself but I will plod on as best I can.
I knew I wouldn't get away with just a trip to Aldi this morning!! DD wanted to pop in Morries first, then Sainsbobs and eventually we got to Aldi. I finally got home at 11.45!. When DS takes me I am back home, all shopping done in less than an hour!
The site of the biopsies seems to be bothering Sparkle when she tries to eat. She's just picking at her food. If she's no better tomorrow I shall be glad we are going for the check up and the vet can take a look.
I was behind myself getting the Bolognese on for the Thursday Fix but that should have simmered long enough now so I will get the pasta on and make the cheese sauce next job and get it all assembled.
So far we have escaped any rain today and have even had sunshine! It actually felt fairly mild too. Long may it last! Enjoy the rest of the day folks and take care all xx

OMG! Nelski, what a horrible thing to happen to you, I hope you have enough support. I'll be thinking about you.
dp1 Take care of yourself, shingles can be such a painful illness, hopefully the anti-virals will work quickly and also that little gd does not get chicken pox. Laura had chicken pox twice and shingles by the time she was five but seems to have outgrown the susceptibility.
We're back from Yorkshire but I'm waiting to see if Laura needs me to go down, Poor Esben has been under the weather for the last three days, he's gone from pooing every 4 or 5 days to after every feed at least. We think it's teething because he's not really ill but he's very miserable, poor little man.

Hello all
I do not post that regularly but read every day
I was in touch with Jackie last night and she said " I will miss all the friends i have made over the past 16 years and hope I have not let them down "
Nelski I know she will be worried about you and can only say what others have said before please take it steady and one day at a time
Big hugs to Nelski and dp1
