This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here, DS2 is settled and ok.
Dark, raining and very blustery - horrible weather again.
Dinner last night was egg, bacon, jacket potato, beans and cheese - made a very nice change - not sure what we'll be having tonight but will organise at some point today. I have the normal "to do" list so will get going with that.
Keep safe and well x

Morning Everyone,
Raining today. So my washing will have to go on my electric airer - this was a great buy and much cheaper to run than a td.
Hairdresser later in the afternoon for a much needed trim.
Tea tonight is Jacket Potatoes.
Have a good Thursday all:)

Good morning everyone
I see there are two daily threads open today, hopefully they will get joined up at some point. Thank you nmlc and I love comps for starting us off.
Lee's psychiatrist is coming to do a review with him this morning so as soon as Steve gets up we will be tidying the living room and defluffing the carpet. I am also scheduled to finally have my doppler scan today with the district nurses. I just hope they don't come at the same time as the psychiatrist. I haven't been feeling very well for the past couple of days but I think I have finally managed to shake it off and feel a lot brighter today.
We are going to have sweet and sour chicken today from the Hairy Dieter's first cookbook. I have made it lots of times as it is very tasty. Lee made a quiche in college yesterday and I swear it was the nicest one I have ever eaten. He has a real talent for cooking and I hope he goes far with it.
I am ploughing on with my knitting. I had to confess to Steve about buying more wool, well I couldn't really hide it when the delivery man brought round a big box full of patterns, stuffing and yarn. He just laughed at me and made me promise not to go too mad again. I am going to stick to only starting one project at a time and sewing it up before I start the next one.
Speaking of which, I can do a few rows now before the big clean up happens. Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx

Morning folks and thanks ILC. Drizzle and light wind forecast for us so that's an improvement on the last few days!
Thank you for all the good wishes for Sparkle's biopsies yesterday. She came through unscathed but was a bit subdued last night. Back on form this morning! She has to go back for a follow up check tomorrow but the results won't be back until next week. Fingers crossed it is an allergy as the vet suspects and nothing untoward. Poor little cat. I was glad I went out for the day as I would have spent the whole time worrying! We tripped to Ilkley but by heck there was a nithering wind blowing and we spent more time over lunch (and wine) than we did wandering round!
Shopping day today. DD picking me up on her way to school with the girls about 8.30. I only really need Aldi but with DD we could end up anywhere and everywhere!! It's still a frugal bare essentials list as I am still sticking to my intentions of eating from the freezers and stores to get stocks down a bit! The girls are all here for late tea and sleepover so the "usual" will be put on to cook shortly.
Have a good day folks and ((HUGS)) aplenty for all who need/want them. Take care one and all xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"14 -
Morning All
Sorry JackieO has decided to leave us, she will be greatly missed.
Pleased to hear Sparkle has recovered from her ordeal TA.
I was sent home from work yesterday and went to bed for a couple of hours. DS1 came to stay last night, we had a sausage casserole for dinner which was just what the doctor ordered! I didn't have a great sleep last night but feel a lot better this morning so will go into work, I would only get bored here!
It's snowing this morning, looks lovely but will be a difficult commute I expect. Should really go for the train but I'm meeting up with friends after work so the car it is. Hopefully it will all be gone by lunchtime.
Have a good Thursday, take care. XX13 -
Morning all. I was woken by pounding rain and couldn't get back to sleep so have been up for a while. Not raining now but everything feels cold and damp.
Fingers crossed for Sparkle TA.
Work yesterday was interesting but the journey there was pestilential. Easier on the way back, the buses aligned. We are quite lucky with bus services but when one is taken out of service on one of the busier routes, it can be awkward. Standing room only with people chuntering on about the lack.of seats, they all got rather bad tempered.
Today I need to do a bit of shopping, locally. Not much more thanthat going on.
Sad that JackieO has decided that she doesnt like the site, nor do I but I'll try for a few days in the hope of getting used to it.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back13 -
Good morning, it's raining hard here. Yesterday was fine and sunny, but very cold.I didn't go out at all, did jobs here, and I got on with some sewing that I started last year!! Also started a birthday card for a friend.Today, I 've got an appointment for a blood test at the Drs, will pick up a prescription, and may continue with my sewing if I can. It's a summer dress so no hurry!! I need a zip so I'll buy one when I'm out.I hope Sparkle will be ok TA.Glad you're feeling a bit better Camelot. It's a pity that Jackie O is leaving us.Hope everyone has a good Thursday anyway.Take care folks11

Good morning folks.TA - lovely to hear that Sparkles is fine.CAMELOT - take care out there.DUMPLING - good luck with both sets of visitors. This morning will be filled by DM’s cleaner. Later this afternoon there’s a loss adjuster coming to view the dry rot damage. I’ve told him that there’s nothing to see as the flooring was put back and work isn’t starting until next week. Still, he wants to come! That’ll not take long.
Last night I put some chicken breasts in the oven and then forgot about them until almost too late. Luckily, I managed to save them, only because the cooking smells eventually reached me. Even better, the smell tempted DM to want some, she hadn’t eaten much all day.Yesterday I rolled over in bed the ‘wrong way’ and my new hip made a little noise which worried me all day. After a short trip I stayed indoors resting up and spent the time catching up on my part part time job sorting out internal verification for the next few months.Right, time for some kind of action here. There’s bed linen to change. I wish everyone a peaceful and happy Thursday.10
