  • Another £77.10 paid off the CC today, taking my balance down to £5,772.90.

I've made my decision on the bonus, I'm keeping a couple of hundred to do nice things with and then the rest is going on the CC. I'm just desperate to be free of it now and using the majority of the bonus towards it will take a month off my payments. I'm so close, but so far away from paying it off.

The bonus has really helped bring my total down, I'm glad I put most of it towards the debt.
    CC Balance: £3.175.93
I have paid off 75% of my debt, and am aiming to be debt free by the end of May! My original DFD was Feb '22, so if I do manage to pay it off by May I'll be really pleased.

That's great news well done and it's nice seeing bonus going to use rather than being wasted here and there.

In previous years I've just wasted it on nothing. It feels good to use it to get the debt down and I can't wait to be free of it. I'm dreaming of all the things I'll be able to save for and do once this damn debt is gone!

  • Another chunk paid off so the debt is down to £2,330, so I've paid off 82% of the debt.
It's so close now, hopefully only 3 paydays left to pay it off!

  • Some more money paid off the CC; it's down to £1032.09- so close!
I'm hoping to pay off the £32.09 this month to make it a nice, round number. Then it should all be paid off next payday! I can't wait!

Coming back to this thread to start making myself accountable for actually saving some money!

I'm now a mum to an almost 2yo who is in nursery 3 days a week. My salary has taken a hit working part time, along with the addition of nursery costs and increased cost of living.

Although I've managed to stay debt free, I haven't managed to build up any savings after they got used over mat leave. I can definitely feel myself slipping into old spending habits, and I don't want to risk getting into debt again. I'm setting myself a goal of £5k savings, which I think will take a couple of years to achieve. I'm going to behave as if it's £5k debt I need to pay off instead to motivate me.
