Ocado are , IMHO, the very best online food etc supermarket

My family and I have been buying our weekly food ( and several other items eg small electrical items etc) from Ocado for 10 years ( twice weekly deliveries on average). We dislike the busy hurly-burly, checkout queues and faulty trollies  :/ and have shopped for our food on all of the major online supermarkets, including Asda, Tesco, Sainsbury and Waitrose. We now hardly need to use any of the latter.

Ocado is , IMO, the future of grocery shopping and is so advanced in technological innovations that their system cannot be beaten. I would like shares in the company because when it really "takes off", it will soar.
Great website from which to order, very few chosen items ever not available on delivery day ( so HIGHLY reliable in giving you exactly what you asked for), friendly drivers who love their employers and always keep within your requested delivery time, great service dept.....etc etc.  I cannot speak too highly of this wonderful company called Ocado.
And a huge bonus is coming towards the end of this year as Ocado has signed an agreement with legendary M&S Food as part of a joint venture by which Ocado will deliver M&S food as well as its own current brands and all the other leading brands that are already on Ocado's shopping site.
It's great to be able to applaud a British company these days, so I am very happy to give Ocado a 10 out of 10 award.

I have recently tried Ocado and was very impressed. One thing that does annoy me is the website filtering when you want low to high, as the lows start way down after the offers.
The choice is amazing! So many brands you don't see in other online supermarkets.
Essentials is cheaper, though not the cheapest essentials range out there.
I joined to get used to it before they add M and S, I am really looking forward to that.
This won't be popular but I do like that they still deliver in bags. I like the bag recycling thing they do too.

    Old enough to know better...........

  • They also have a really good offer on where you get 30% off your first order and free delivery. Google new Ocado customer to get the code. I can’t paste on here. I use them, they are fab.

They are joining up with M&S from September, and won’t be delivering Waitrose goods any more.

You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset. ;)

It's popular with me. All the nonsense of leaving 100 items of food loose on your front door is ridiculous. Don't get me wrong, I am well aware of the need for environmental issues, but recycling is the way forward IMHO-------not banning something altogether.
Looking forward to the co-operative arrangement with Marks,  starting in the autumn : what a coup for Ocado, and what a coup for M&S which desperately needs to deliver its great food or it will die at some time in the future.
Thx for all the support on this thread for the  truly wonderful OCADO.

It's got a long way to go yet. At present it is tiny compared to other supermarkets. But it is the future and will be huge eventually. I was amazed at the share price increase figures quoted earlier in this thread.

I would say they cant even be compared to the other suppliers. They are tiny. They didnt deliver to me in Edinburgh when they used Waitrose. (Im 3 miles from my nearest Waitrose)
Apparently they now dont deliver anywhere in Scotland.

I'm afraid you don't understand very much about Ocado or even online food shopping.
Online shopping is a small proportion of the grocery market in the UK at present. Ocado is an award-winning ( and operates only online ) which is forward-looking to a future when online shopping will be a much larger proportion of the market. And they are doing very well indeed ( just look at their share price more than doubling between 2018 and today). They never "used" Waitrose as you claim-----they had an agreement to sell some Waitrose products as well as many others-----and Waitrose remained a competitor in the online marketing and delivery of food. Now Ocado has a 50-50 mutual agreement with M&S Food, and of course M&S are not a competitor in the delivery sector.
And Ocado has NEVER  operated in Scotland-----it operates in England only, claiming nevertheless to be able to deliver to 75% of all households in BRITAIN  (remember that only 8% of British households are in Scotland ). Ocado is still expanding and may cover Scotland at some stage, perhaps when Scotland catches up with the modern trend towards an increasing demand for online food shopping and delivery.
As mentioned among all the unanimously  favourable postings on this thread, Ocado are the FUTURE, as well as -----where they currently operate------the best online food delivery company. The quality of their foodstuffs is the finest anyone can find online ( as their awards declare every year)-----and the addition of the longstanding and outstanding M&S Food will only enhance that.
