For me the biggest loss is the preview when hovering over a topic heading.  Saves so much time clicking in and out of items which end up having no interest for me, but not obviously so from the title.
totally agree with this. i can soon get used to the new layout but without getting a snapshot by hovering of what the thread is about, it is just too time consuming to use. surely this feature can be brought back? most forums i use employ this feature.

I'm usually on my phone so don't have the benefit of the hover.  I'm on the laptop now and just discovered how much I still rely on it.  It's infuriating as I keep hovering and waiting!

  • Don't like it either, my post rate has taken a nose dive and I've gone off the place after being a resident for almost 15 years.

    There's some nice things though.

    Adding photos easily is amazing!

I read from work and we only have IE, and its a nightmare. every post is the same size so any images or text longer than a small post is basically cut off or runs into the post below. An absolute shambles from MSE imo. Between this and the GM debacle, makes you wonder how decisions get made.
IE is still being maintained by Microsoft but not being updated to accept new technologies including the styles web designers use to render webpages correctly on all devices. While appreciating you probably have no choice in the matter, suggest problem is not with MSE but your work, as over time more and more websites won't function properly on IE.

Where it will be ignored by the forum team along with the thousands of other comments in numerous threads making the exact same points.

We're two weeks in already, and they haven't even begun to address the most serious issues that make it literally painful to use for so many people now, let alone the hundreds of other minor gripes and annoyances with it's poorer functionality and user experience versus the old site.
