Lost my BBC 4 HD after prompted to a retune

  • There is a rolling plan of changes to that multiplex, changes at Emerly Moor are on Tuesday night, so a retune on Wednesday may bring the service back.
In the South of York (Emley Moor transmitter) I've lost 7 channels from 30 Favourites on Freeview. These include Sky News, All  Quest and Dave, there maybe more but I rarely use All Progs.
This:- Changes were recently made to Freeview signals in your area on Wednesday, 5 February 2020 - We recommend retuning from time to time to get the most up to date channels in your area. Clearance results YO Your predicted transmitter is Emley Moor
Is all the info they deem necessary ! I believe this happened on the above date and I know of 2 other TV's in the area similarly affected.

This is the document of changes for Yorkshire.
It seems that the change on 5th Feb at EM (page 4) affected three multiplexes, I think BBC4HD is on Com8 and the Sky News is on Com4 I think.
There are also seperate changes to COM8 happening at EM tonight (I mention in earlier post) not mentioned in that PDF, which should make the COM8 signal more robust, but I'm not sure if it affects the coverage.
It seems to pickup Sky News and alike you might need a new aerial, if you existing aerial is group B type and your aerial is pointed at Emily Moor and not one of it many relays.

It can also be affected by the weather when you retune.  I've always found the best results come from the sky being overcast but not actually raining at the time.  Not sure this even makes sense but it has always worked for me.

BBC 4 HD and other Freeview channels lost on my second TV and  the Youview set top box  have returned after a retune today, so many thanks for advice. Seems that Youview boxes have a fairly week signal strength anyway as it never shows more than 50 % when the built into the TV Freeview is up to 100% . It is an old Youview recorder box and I wonder if later Youview boxes have improved .
Edit, I spoke too soon.BBC4 HD is back but so weak it cuts out every other second. I will look into getting either a better aerial or a signal booster. BBC4 HD is the second most popular channel I use after BBC2.

First, and cheapest, step would be to make sure your current aerial is perfectly aligned.
