I retuned through the TV s built in Freeview, not a set top box , and despite several more re-tunes BBC4 HD does not return on channel 106 ..The standard BBC4 is on channel 9 but the HD version has gone..Any tips on recovering this . This is only on my second TV a 42 inch Panasonic in the bedroom.. I m not going to risk it on the main TV after this until I can find out what and why this has happened.Signal quality and strength is listed as 75%/100%

It does nt start till 7 pm but if it was being received it would show channel info..channel 106 is just not there on the channel list , neither is BBC News HD on 107 , but that comes and go s on some of the retunes.. I don t think I ve tried a retune after 7 pm but worth a shot , thanks0

I believe there is changes being made or in progress with the multiplex that carries BBC4 HD, not sure if those changes have reduced coverage. That Multiplex is either on channel 55 or 56, its the signal quality/strength for those frequency which will tell you what is the problem.1

BBC4 HD is on a multiplex that is broadcast at a lower power and often at a frequency that is harder to pick up by the typical aerial in a region. The frequency has been moved. This means it is easier for it to be missed during a retune. With the current weather TV reception can be affected so keep trying again to see if the conditions have improved enough to have your TV pick up the channel again.

There is a rolling plan of changes to that multiplex, changes at Emerly Moor are on Tuesday night, so a retune on Wednesday may bring the service back.
