When I ate meat (not eaten again for over 2 months now
) I would do whole chickens in slow cooker, joints etc
We prefer to use natural veggie proteins rather than meat subsitutes but some I would recommend are:
Meatless Farm Co Mince
Vivera Plant Burgers -lovely fried with onions, pickles ketchup and burger mustard in a bun.
Heck Meat Free Sausages - Nice as toad in the hole /dinner type sausage
Good Life non-meaty sausages - Nice as part of cooked breakie
and Mr M_F loves the quorn cocktail sausages for snacking on. He still eats some meat but says they taste great- I don't like quorn.

I like the Heck meat free sausages, had them at my parents.
There is the odd gadget I would live on beans to replace, but the slow cooker isn't one of them. Its the smell I think, I work from home more often than not and my desk is next to the kitchen. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Ooh thanks M_F. Sounds lovely, although we are all dedicated meat eaters in this house. I used to like quorn grills & sausages, many moons ago when I was losing weight with a well known weight loss group.
No time for faffing about frying stuff off in the mornings for me. In normal life we're out the door by 7am so it's a case of chucking it all in and crossing my fingers ✌. I'm going to look up spicentice, we do like a bit of flavour. I've never been brave enough to chuck in a whole chicken though. Might give that a go soon.

I haven't eaten meat for over 30 years but still cook it for Mr SA. I use the slow cooker to cook most of his meat as I'm hopeless at cooking it without it being tough. Morrisons frozen vegetarian Glamorgan sausages are nice as are the Linda McCartney vegetarian chorizo and red pepper sausages. I only like Quorn mince as I'm not a fan of pretend meat pieces.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3

Ooh those chorizo and pepper sausages could be just the job to go in a jambalaya (jambalawhatsit to us )

Still out the door before 7am here @Naomim 😭 hence me doing the meals on a weekend.
I have been known to do the faffing on an evening let it cool then bung it all in the SC in the morning.Dedicated Debt Free Wanabee 🤓
