Maybe there are plans for an alternative, such as an 'I agree' button. It would be far more suitable for DT. The problem with 'thanks' is a person can have thousands of them in DT without contributing anything useful to the forum, other than having a agreeable political viewpoint.

Hi all, 
The Thanks button will not be re-instated on the non-moneysaving sections of the Forum. We may look to create a specific function to mark appreciation on the Discussion time and Arms boards in future to keep it separate from the main Thanks function.
