Page numbers and sorting by newest or title

The most obvious and most ridiculous thing is that there are no page numbers at the top and I have no idea how the posts are ordered. So do i have to go through a couple of hundred pages each day to see which comps i've entered? How do you sort by newest post or by date? I've been here for years and its no longer for me. No page numbers at the top and an inability to see what you've entered each day and what page you are up to without having to go through hundreds of pages makes this part of the forum unuseable. I do realise before the sanctimonious respond that it is my choice but nowhere did it say that the most basic function on the comp section of sorting comps or even have page numbers at the top that you can jump to would be removed. That was one of the most if not THE most important funcion of any comping forum. Back to loquax and comp database. Also i am aware you can put ?sort=new  at the end of the url to supposedly sort newest posts but i know this can't possibly be working properly as it's showing only 2 pages of comps i haven't entered and on a friday as i haven't entered any since yesterday afternoon there would be many more than 40 comps. Horrible backward step to a simpler more basic forum. I have zero idea why this has been done if it is not to improve. All i can see are steps backwards.

As the final note of my whine the next most ridiculous thing is that you have to go into a post that you can see you wouldn't want to enter, in order to click skipped so that you can see which comps you have entered or not. Another step backwards. You're not encouraging people to come here, you're encouraging them to leave and go to the other large comp forums that have clear, easy entry methods. We have gone from being able to sort easily as to our entry methods, to click cross to quickly miss a comp and being able to thank people, to making going backwards 5 years.

Hi hun but i don't think that works. I've tried that and it certainly isn't bringing up all the new pages that would be there on a friday. I have two pages showing of comps i haven't entered and i haven't entered any since yesterday afternoon. There should be pages of them on a friday. Thank you though . It also doesn't explain why the admin have chosen and simpler forum that is in no way as advanced as the forum before.

The forum has been down since yesterday afternoon so there won't be as many new posts as usual?

Thanks @Spot5Flowers  I do think that works.
@serenity2012  The reason you are only seeing two pages is because MSE was down for hours and only came back online mid-morning - so nobody was able to post any new comps.

Thanks Maine that makes sense lol.  Yeah Sleepy page numbers have just started appearing but that is of no use unless a sort feature of some kind appears. They might be numbered but we have no idea how they are sorted and would still have to go through every page to see entered or not etc.  I do absolutely realise new forums etc need tweaking but these things should have been instantly built into it before it launched as almost all forums have it let alone comping forums.  Either way,  i'm crossing fingers that the sort by title and newest etc appears asap and that we are not going to have to go into a post itself in order to click skip etc for very long Thanks for the help x

Just to add that i'm clicking bookmark by any comp i don't want to enter at the moment. That turns it blue so i can see i've looked but skipped it   Also thanks everyone. You've all been helpful and given great advice and info etc and been very patient

I imagine the posts appear in the same way as they always have (although I haven't checked).  So new posts and "bumped" posts that have a new reply will appear on page 1 in date order?

The Entered / Skipped messages still appear, so if you go to page 40 (for example), you should see the Skipped or Entered notifications on posts that you had green ticked or red X'd on the old forum on the actual main board.

We do need to have the ability to skip via the main board though, but I assume that's a work in progress.

Would love a link for sorting comps by end date please. The link I was using before is no longer showing comps by end date.
