  • Afternoon all, (Gosh is it afternoon already?)
This weekend was a very fun-filled affair but I did spend a bit as well, which to be honest I knew was on the cards and was budgeted for so no surprises.
I've made a few changes to my priorities in regard to where my money goes, particularly around my grocery bill each month. I do spend a lot on stuff that I end up not using so my new approach is to go shopping every day for exactly what I need and no more. This is in line with my gym goals anyway - cutting down on stuff which isn't moving me forward on that score either (chocolate hobnobs!!)
Next weekend I am off to Bath with some friends who get together every 6 months, choose a town, and go and have a right good weekend. A lot of this is already paid for (hotel, train tickets) and so there'll only be the food and alcohol to sort.
Then on my return, I'll be knuckling down to some serious money saving.

    Have a great day all,

That sounds like a great idea. Bath is so lovely with lots to see and do. Hopefully you won't have to spend too much money to have a good time.

Crikey! I'm sat here in my office and I just can't get started today. Everything I have to do just feels so massive to face, I just recoil at the thought of putting my next foot forward. One of the jobs I have to do is to sort out my CV because I want to apply for jobs on the railway. This will double my income if I get the job I'm after. They're recruiting at the moment but even those positive aspects aren't enough to get me doing what is required. I wish I was more motivated and not so bogged down in my own fears about being rejected, not getting through because of something really stupid. I'm such a worrier at times. I know I should just do it, nothing ventured etc etc, but I'm frozen to the spot.
Think I'll make a cup of tea. Sorry for the rant but I just needed to unburden myself of that.

    My Statement of Affairs:
My income is highly variable so the value stated is what I earned last year divided by 12, as are all the costs I incurred. I do manage day to day and every month I over pay my credit card by £100 to reduce the debt.
Internet is in with home phone as it is a package.
Contents insurance is in with buildings as a package.
My gym costs are high but very important to me for health reasons as I need to be fit as I have bone issues. The more musculature I have the less my skeleton has to bear my weight. I enjoy it, it keeps my depression at bay and basically it's my equivalent of a a night(s) in the pub.
My cash of £8500 is money from my PPI claim which serves as my £3000 emergency fund and £5500 saved for a new bathroom which I need.
Comments welcome - please be nice! LOL

    March Grocery Challenge £100 - £190.61 spent so far - Covid19 prep!!
  • Afternoon,
My first post since arriving back from my weekend away. I spent roughly what I had planned to spend, or at least had put aside to spend which is good as it means I'm still on budget. I do need to reign myself in a little for the rest of the month though, but this shouldn't be too difficult as I'm not going anywhere or doing anything til March anyway.
Hope you all had a good weekend.
Comments welcome on my SOA if anyone has any ideas.
