Thank you very much for your advice and being so helpful. I will try contact the UK Power again tomorrow and from now on will have to keep switching the immersion on and off every morning and evening. Hopefully it will work fine until the tenancy ends and I can look to rent elsewhere asap. Thank you once again

Make sure you read the meter(s) on your way out the door when you leave the tenancy and try to rent somewhere that has mains gas! Failing that, somewhere with a properly wired immersion heater. You have an idea what to look for, now.

Yeah i will have to bite the bullet this time and take it as a lesson learnt the hard way. I sure will get the readings before the tenancy ended and will only rent where there are both gas and electricity. Thanks
