Mis-selling Car

So during your ownership you have never popped the bonnet and looked at the engine etc? you have never changed the air filter, or thought to yourself Hmmmmmm that looks odd.....................Your just as much to blame as anyone in my opinion.0
-
To be honest, I have never changed the air filter on any of my vehicles over the last 15years so wouldn’t know a modified one to a standard one - also, with no direct comparison I bet the majority of people wouldn’t spot some modifications.
BUT as has already been asked many times - how much has the OP ACTUALLY lost ?0 -
But it isnt just an air filter, its an induction kit - so it would have been spotted as soon as you opened the bonnet surely?1

Not if it was an aftermarket panel filter in the airbox. You said you had it serviced elsewhere, it could have been installed then.
You said some modifications, you only mention 1 ?0 -
To be fair, I struggle with knowing where the water goes. It's not inconceivable to think people don't know where an air filter is.0

Not recieved the payment yet.
As Vauxhall mis-sold me the car I was actually driving with Invalid Insurance, what if the previous owner wouldn't confirm it. My whole claim would have been cancelled and my policy.
These 4 weeks have been nightmare for me bcz Insurance have took the courtesy car of me bcz my car was confirmed written off after 1st week. For 3 weeks my mrs was struggling for the school runs, I ve spent lot of money in taxis going to work and the time I spent chasing Vauxhall even when I was at work. Just bcz of Vauxhall who didn't inform me of the mods and they didnt even helped me when I was chasing them after this incident.
This incident have cause me a lot of Inconvenience and stressed for me and my family. What If It was a serious accident and If I couldn't prove this modifications werent done by me.
Where did the dramatic suggestion that you had invalid insurance come from?0 -
Insurers Adrian Flux confirm the opinion that not declaring a modification even if you had no knowledge of it can be reason to deny a claim.

Whether you'd have a case against the seller in such a situation I don't know.
But if the insurers do pay out then there's not likely to be any losses to claim for. You can't just claim for any imaginable cost you can blame someone for.0 -

Adrian Flux are sellers of insurance for modified cars so have something of a vested interest in flogging it "just in case".
The Ombudsman has made their opinion clear that if you didn't know and couldn't be expected to know then they cannot void your insurance.0 -

I am not the OP mate :rotfl:
Just saying the OP refers to an induction kit, not a sports panel filter - so I find it hard to believe that he didnt know it was fitted. first thing most people do when they buy a car is pop the bonnet.0
