Hello @regularsaver and all you lovely people.
I am glad to read that you are carrying on and having some wonderful targets. We are in all this together and trying to carryon despite! Yes it will be a food mental boost if you could do extra to catch up with the time we did not do any OPs. I am also hoping the same as in the first year I did not think much of OPs. Thank God now I do plan to OP and all you MFW are a good encouragement.
Mental health wise I find forcing myself to do the things I “feel like not doing” helps me in the end to make me feel better. For instance the wet and cold weather means I “feel like not going out” but when I force myself to go out and take a walk I feel happier and every thing feels much better. So let’s encourage each other to connect even when we don’t feel like.

Welldone for celebrating your birthday 🥳 and happy birthday again. I pray that you are granted good health and prosperity!

    Happy Birthday!
Great news on the OP and strategy.
It's so easy to get lost in oneself, so finding time for normal things in these weird times is a definite win.

  • Good afternoon everyone and thanks for your lovely comments. I am really finding they help me keep going and be encouraged. It helps to motivate me to keep going and that's great.

I totally agree on trying to do things you don't feel like doing, and I did just that this week going out for a 5k walk Monday to Friday. It was so, so cold, but I am glad I did.

I have just made Februaries OP of £147.58.

I quite like February and March as they are months I don't pay council tax as I do it over 10 months and not 12 so it means I can push that money into OP which is great.

Nothing too much to report other than that, still trying to have lots of no spend days, I've had to have the heating on a fair bit the last week as its been so cold so no doubt the heating bill will be up this month. Its interesting keeping an eye on the smart meter seeing how much the daily spend has gone up in the cold.

Hope you guys are all well and speak to you soon.

Well done on the C25k. I’ve not been out at all and I feel bad. I will try and take a leaf out of your book! And Ditto on the ctax, my mortgage fund has benefited also.

    Putting mine towards the pension...
I admire your running in such weather!
It was hard enough walking down the drive to the freezer in the garage! 😆

Welldone for managing to go out in such adverse weather! I just couldn’t be asked to go for a walk due to the snow and cold weather.

  • Hope you’re doing ok! The walking will be good for your feel good hormones and hopefully counterbalance the horrible lockdown impact on our mental health.

The news seems to be taking a turn now for the end being in sight so fingers crossed. I was in work yesterday too (a&e) and the covid side was empty all day so that’s a good sign!

  • Hi all, just checking in and thanks so much for all the lovely comments. I am still keeping up with the running and walking in an attempt to keep my fitness and assist my mental health. I think its helping. My run today was lovely, sunny and 17c!!

Had a few purchases this month I wasnt expecting, had to buy a new shaver as mine broke, some batteries for kitchen and bathroom scales but aside from that I think thats about it. Car MOT and service next month. Wahoo :) All budgeted for though so feels good to know its covered and thats the beauty of having a budget isnt it. Takes the weight/pressure off.

Hope you guys are getting on well.
