If everyone who is on the list and wants their total posting when they are finished would like to post their final total maybe something like
I'm finished and have spent..................
I am over budget already...by 5.85.... but I am not finished yet with just over a week to go.0 -
My OH has just blown the £11 christmas day drinks budget by buying a bottle of baileys and jack Daniels. And then got !!!!ed on it all with a friend of ours this afternoon. Then they went to the pub. So the christmas drink money is gone before Christmas day is even here.
I think I am fighting a losing battle this christmas week.

Completely off topic, but reading your post reminded me of the fantastic time we spent in Germany whilst stationed at RAF Gutersloh between 1989-1991! We used to go to Bielefeld shopping and like you used to do most of our shopping in the local shops and supermarkets, Markauf being the main one and making the most of the tax free stuff!! Funnily enough the Naafi was a last resort! It was the best tour we had and we both loved living in Germany and made the most of it visiting as much of it as possible.
Thanks for reminding me of a great time of our life and I hope you get to enjoy it for as long as possible! Happy Christmas!
Back on topic, thanks to Mr T's vouchers, Grocery challenge has had a boost and hopefully we wil come in well under budget!

Well, upto today, I'm £17.59 over budget:mad: - don't feel too bad though as I've bought a lot of extras (chocs, biscuits, mince pies...the list goes on:rotfl: ) & have still spent less than most other months this year!!!!

Just popped in to say I'm £6 over at the minute and need butter and tea so that will add a bit more on. At this stage rather than withdraw totally from the good fight
I think I'll add an xmas bonus of 10%, so I have up to another £14 to spend if necessary....
Considering this includes a lot in the way of luxury contributions to christmas for two families I think it's still ok...0 -

Merry Christmas lovelies!:santa2: :santa2: :santa2:
I'm up late wrapping all the gifts with only the cat to pester me. (I've just bribed him with prawns to get off the wrapping paper!
)
During the day this weekend I don't seem to have a minutes peace to do it even though my eldest has been away for the weekend with his girlfriend, and my poor hubby has been working all weekend. (Bless him! :heartpuls )
I am just sitting here thinking about what I still need... I'm probably going to go out at the crack of dawn to pick up cream and full fat milk - and extra bacon wouldn't go amiss probably, and maybe hoummus, but that should be it as I've got a delivery coming on the 27th. I'll probably update then with my final total for the month.
I like your idea of having a total for the year BelfastGirl cos some months are more expensive than others aren't they? I'd like to have a bit of flexibility with the budget without feeling like I've failed if I spend more this month than I did last month.
Having said that, we'll rein it in tight for January - just to get the year off to a flying start.
I'm aware that there's lots more I could be doing, but I feel that I'm making progress all the time so I'm "getting there".

My month ends on Saturday so I will post up the figures thenHave been a bit bad & spent £23 on fruit & desserts in M&S I'm kicking myself now as I could've gone to the fruit shop... thank goodness the shops are shut for a few days, I may just come in under budget! Thank you everyone for helping me on my first grocery challenge, it is surprising how it makes you think before buying anything (except my M&S blip!)
Hope everyone has a lovely time & you all find a bit of time to relax during the festivities0 -

Am fairly pleased with my month really......I am over budget (by £37.59) but have bought so much extra, that I'm sure I can cut back next year!!
Final shop today (yes it was mad - but not as bad as previous years!!:rotfl: ) - had a stroke of luck (for once:rolleyes: ) - the till crashed when my shopping was almost all through - they tried to restart it etc with no joy! After around 15-20 minutes, they took me to another till, and offered that I could have the shopping for £20 due to the inconvenience!! I had at least £35-40 worth of stuff there (wine, drinks, loads of bread, milk etc....) - was really chuffed. The woman after me, who'd also had a long wait as her shopping was already on the conveyer (?sp) - got 2 bottles of bucks fizz & a large bouquet of flowers she'd picked up for free!!!
Anyhow...that's me done for 2007. I've not managed to come in under budget but feel I've learnt some important lessons for 2008!!!:D:xmastree:MERRY CHRISTMAS ALL :xmassign:20p Saver Club #33 60p/£100

Hi all,
we are definitly over budget. But DH tried to get me to do another shop after christmas - I refused. We will live on leftovers and HM freezer stuff.
We have more then enough!
From January onwards, I will do a monthly Mr T shop. It means, we will have to be organized, but now, the cellar is cleared etc, I can stock up.
I will also have to plan lunches for DS1 (2years) and lunchboxes for DH. I was thinking of flapjacks etc. If anyone can help me out with more ideas, it is very much appreciated.
Also not to forget the meals for DS2 (6month).
lil_me: Our month runs until the 31st. I will let you know our total then.
Egon
