    Hi all
I have followed this thread for a few months now and have decided that its time to pull in the apron strings a bit. I am going to join you for the next one, if you dont mind :D

I need to save £4000 by June 08 for dental work and the weekly shopping money will be doing its bit to towards it.

excluding xmas food shop i spend around £450 pm for 3 adults and a teenager, (who can eat for england and still fit into her size 6 jeans!!)

My cooking skills have improved over the last year thanks to all the advice and recipies on this forum, so with better time management I am sure I can make more meals to save money.

I would like to get the bill down to £300, does this sound too little/much?

I've done my final weeks shopping £29.64. My total for the month is £119.47 so I have come in a grand total of 53p under budget.

If I allow €10 for milk/bread, I should be just around €350, which was my budget....all my totals have gone as my signature was too long...not sure what to do about that...so lil_me,

    I am finished on €350

    Hello everyone..

Well hopefully tomorrow i will pick up the last of the "stock pile" items i want to get to take back home to Germany with me... LIDL bread flour is now on offer here at 48p a bag... so i will be picking up 20-30 bags of that - it means i can make a loaf of bread for under 20p -not including gas of course.

I have picked up some real money savers.. and have drawn up a notebook into weekly shopping visits and meal plans... and I will work out what i have spent in total tomorrow and how much that little lot would have cost us back home... i know im going to have saved a small fortune -yippee

Im determined that for the whole of 2008 i am going to be a demon shopping challenger lol.... want to see just how low i can get it -without suffering..

hope everyone is having a good time

Ooh, I've found you all in here! Please can I join in the grocery challenge from 1st January and can someone let me know if we count in vouchers or if it's just the final total of the grocery bill regardless of how it gets paid? I need to set my budget at £120 per month in order to meet my other challenges, if that's ok :)

Hi there. Welcome to the grocery challenge thread. The more the merrier!!! any vouchers I use for shopping is deducted from the total. So if I spent £25.00 and handed in £3.00 in vouchers/moneyoff coupons I would say that my shopping was £22.00. You could always have virtual savings where you write down any vouchers/money off coupons you use and add them up to give you your annual virtual savings. Or alternatively, you could put the equivalent amount of money away to the value of the vouchers/coupons used. You could also take it to the enth degree and do the same with reduced items, i.e if you buy something that is £1 and it should have been £2.25 you could put the £1.25 away as an actual saving you can see, iyswim? Personally I don't do that, because there are alot of things that I probably wouldn't buy if they weren't reduced. Sorry, I'm waffling now so i'm going. Catch you all later!!!
