Goodness gracious, what a lot of posts yesterday. So many I wanted to reply to. However DW has broken her arm and I am a bit pressed for time at the moment. Will think about the spreadsheet thingy and try to advise on a universal method as you all do things a different way and one of my programmes will not be available to you. Thanks whoever called me a Guru, maybe GooGoo would be more appropriate :rotfl:. catch you all later
Mike, so sorry to hear your dw has broken her arm, what a rotten thing to happen! I'm sure you're taking excellent care of her and the household though. :T
Meanwhile we will all wait patiently till our Guru has chance to get back with some advice.
Really I would like to know how you categorise things - I have a way of making things more complicated than they need be so would welcome some advice on this aspect :j... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

Thanks nopot2pin, I will have to see if I can escape the girls and visit my local tesco around 8pm then. Think thats the best time for 75% off!! Soon as the car is back on the road.
Been looking at the 4K challenge. Think they must all be mad, but necessity is the mother of invention so they say.
No spend day again for me today. Possibly because I havent been able to get out of the house.!!:rolleyes:When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
sorry about your dw's arm MikeD & hugs to you too nopot2pin.
I think that I might get through this month :j I've just added on my big tesco shop (arrived today) which leaves me nearly £50 till the end of the month, the cupboards, fridge & freezer are nice & full so I will only need milk & bread till xmas day when I get my 1st ever breadmaker (I can't wait!) So I am quite optimistic that there will be some left to add to my savings!Hope everyones ok & not feeling too cold xx

Hi sweetpea, another person here impatiently waiting for their first breadmaker
Managed to spend another £3.03 yesterday but that was on hummus (DHs request) carrots, butter (92p for 250g!!) and polenta (69p). Went to three different shops to get these so quite proud of myself that I didn't end up buying more. will update sig in a mo. I'm hoping this is enough to do for dinner on Sat night (cooking for friends). Not keen to go into the shops again if I can help it.
Hope Mrs Mike is looking after herself or being looked after0 -
hope you have fun using your breadmaker too belfastgirl
I was trying to make sure I had everything in to start breadmaking straight away but it looks like I have ordered the wrong yeast online
its in a tub. I guess it was supposed to be the sachet yeast but not sure? I will go & have a look in the shops before xmas day to check & pick up the right one!

   Oh blimey Mike!
Does that make you Chief Cook and Bottle Washer so that DW can follow mine and BelfastGirls standard injury prescription to the letter?
I'm sure DW will offer words of instruction and encouragment from her position on the sofa though, and won't be any trouble at all - as long as you leave the choccies within easy reachand don't make so much noise banging and clattering the pots that she can't hear her movie! :rotfl:
Seriously though Mike, I hope she's not in too much pain.
Love Jacks xxx
Thank you all for your commiserations and be assured that she is getting the best possible care that we (the family) can provide. It's great to have a family that rallies round in an emergency, don't you agree.
I think it was tattycath that had a problem when sorting a column in Excel (spit). Make sure that you select all the rows and columns that you want your data sorted into, otherwise it will only sort the column you select and leave all the other columns as they were.
Will try to do something on the spread sheets over the weekend but can't promise anything0
