I’ve never heard of Hopton on Sea.
Is it near Skipton?

I remember in the late 60s my parents having storage heaters, great big dark brown monstrosities.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. zagubov said:I know we've discussed this before, but they used to build prefab houses around a solid fuel heater. The house was arranged so the fireplace in the living room was under the back boiler in the airing cupboard which supplied hot water to the kitchen and bathroom which were back to back. The plumbing system was called the Heart Unit and was the simplest arrangement possible and could be assembled rapidly (even in one day, which was the point of this type of housing).
Had relatives who lived in one and they loved it.
I wonder when did central heating become a thing?
Then increased a lot in the 70s.
The first little house I bought, in 1980, didn’t have any heating at all! I survived with electric fan heaters until I increased my mortgage so that I could put in a simple gas CH system. Servowarm, it was.(I just lurve spiders!)

My son arrived from Berlin, and I’ve caught his nasty cough. Clearly, it’s Coronavirus, rather than the usual man flu. It laid me up for a couple of days, but I seem to be making a miraculously quick recovery.@PasturesNew
I’m sure that Coronavirus will become endemic, so it’s best to get it over with before the hospitals are inundated. You underestimate how fortunate you are to have a source of the disease close to hand, Pastures! No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?7 -
I wonder how quickly they’ll get a vaccine developed?(I just lurve spiders!)

It took ages to develop an Ebola vaccine. The first one to be approved only achieved that 3 months ago, although it was used before approval. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?6
