Similarly loads of people are helping each other and the street has a mutual support Facebook page. There could be some societal good that comes out of this madness.Hope your sister gets better soon Sue.
We've also got a Facebook page called Helping Hands, to help those without Facebook there was a major leaflet drop (well before restrictions came into place) and surgeries are also sending text messages to those on their books advertising the group and with the number to call. The group now has over 400 volunteers and are helping so many people with shopping, picking up prescriptions, travel to appointments, delivery of food parcels (via what was our old disability hospital transport bus) and telephone support for those who are isolated and lonely and just want to hear a friendly voice. It is all highly organised, people are checked, hand and vehicle hygiene is rigidly adhered to and no cash or electronic money is given to the individual helper, so no worries about someone taking the money and running. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

Of course, a positive result could make things worse for the guilt she feels but at least then some contacts could at least be warned and not just shrug an illness off as 'just a cold' and isolate themselves from loved ones and vulnerable people. We made it! Until, that is, I read some of the posts on a dedicated thread, which put a negative slant on this tiny little show of appreciation, and completely flattened the bit of uplift I’d experienced only minutes earlier. No one needs it.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Then out of the blue I got a round robin email (sent to a large group, not just me), from someone in the thick of it saying how much they appreciated the clapping and what a boost it gave them and fellow workers, so that serendipitous email helped a lot!(I just lurve spiders!)

Been out shopping. A very long queue I had already estimated before we went that the queue might be about 1 hour. Anyway got in eventually and did a big shop for us and some fresh food for our neighbour across the road. She sent a list.Fridge is full. We are trying to limit the number of times we go shopping. It is the first time that I have really been able to do it.Now I am back I can get down to some really serious listening to a really nice interesting piece of music.7

That's awesome, PN. There's always a positive. And cheaper houses at some point for you, I suspect. Maybe a low supply, but there's potential.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Re cheaper.... few jobs out there now... any further biding time/renting a self-contained place from June-ish onwards will definitely be "from house money". The idea had been "Look, just do this, then get a job to cover that additional cost.... retain your pot". Not looking like an option.
House money now: £300k Renting needs to be budgetted at up to £1100/month. Say £100 council tax, £200 other bills and £800 rent. I'll look for cheaper, but I'd prefer a "perfect mix"... a perfect mix is: 1 bed, Unfurnished except white goods.... then I could use the bedroom to store my stuff in - and get a blow up sofa to kip onI'd still "rough it".... no point wasting time/energy unpacking everything, setting it all up to "look like a proper house" only to then have to reverse all of that ...
Storage costs about £170-180/month, if I can get a 1 bed I'll save that. But, I'd also like a gf place with some outside sunny space ... and, of course, off road parking
To go cheaper would limit ability to get my stuff out of storage + they tend to be furnished.
... but, ultimately ... I can only have what I see is available. You can't just magic something up to your requirements because you have a list.
Gonna wait it out for a bit further..... as I've paid here.... gives me time to look.
