We've always had a milkman. Don't know many people who still do.
Spent today visiting (withuot getting near to) elderly relatives with supplies that we had to queue Italian-style for and keeping six feet away from other shoppers. Pleased at how well-organised it seems now. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker8 -
I joined in with the clapping, our neighbours did us proud.
James and partner did a flying visit down with some extra supplies and took away the cash I had. We must have looked so shady, their car pulled up, I put a large envelope (it was notes and coins rather than lots of notes) on the doorstep and went inside, he came to the doorstep and picked up said large envelope and left a black bin bag with something bulky inside and then retreated to the roadway 30 ft away and then I opened the door again.
He was giving me recipe instructions/suggestions across a roadway path and my front garden (plus another path). Once he returned home, he transferred the same amount I had given him in cash into my bank account.
In more worrying news, my sister is not well. She had what was diagnosed as a cold over a week or so ago, she is now in quarantine (at home) with a bad chest infection. The doctor still doesn't think it is Covid but my sister isn't so sure as her symptoms were very close to what is advertised initially....she is a severe asthmatic. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.8 -
Oh dear. ☹️
Why isn’t the doctor erring on the side of caution, given she is asthmatic?(I just lurve spiders!)

The clapping was lovely. It is strange, I've lived here 14 years now yet don't know many of my neighbours. However they were all out on their doorstep. Similarly loads of people are helping each other and the street has a mutual support Facebook page. There could be some societal good that comes out of this madness.Hope your sister gets better soon Sue.Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

Until, that is, I read some of the posts on a dedicated thread, which put a negative slant on this tiny little show of appreciation, and completely flattened the bit of uplift I’d experienced only minutes earlier.(I just lurve spiders!)

We drove back home from the caravan yesterday. We'd have come sooner, but OH wasn't feeling too well (Not CV but abdo pain). We were home in two and a half hours (usually 3 hours is exceptionally fast). Hardly saw any traffic before Caernarfon, and even there wasn't that much. Security guards outside of the Tesco there making sure people queued 6 foot apart.
A55 Coast road was much much quieter than usual. Still some big trucks, white vans, and private cars, but not a single hold up or queue. We came over the new Mersey Bridge, and very soon traffic increased. It got very slow in Speke, lots of big lorries, most of which didn't appear to be involved in food movement. eg metal re-cycling (absolutely massive lorry). We only saw one bus.
We didn't go out to clap - I was asleep by then anyway (not been sleeping well the previous few nights) but OH went and looked out to find that nobody in our road was out clapping.
I'm so glad to be home!7 -
Forgot to say that there were big notices by all the turnoffs to the beach "Beach and car park closed". Plus along the A55 the smart signage was reading "Protect our NHS. Campsites closed. Go home." Alternate signs in Welsh and English.7

It was just something else but what they did do was to tell him to stay at home and not go out. There are other things going round that look like it but aren't.8 -
I’m not sure how it would help Sue's sister to have a diagnosis of CV? Would she be treated differently? No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?6
