That all sounds really tough, I don't think you're being pathetic at all! Sometimes we're just not in the right place to do a particular thing (or anything, tbh) and all you can do is cut yourself some slack. I've found this year really hard at times- parenting in a pandemic, working on a masters, etc. - and you're doing it all single handedly, with twice as many as children! I tip my hat to you because you've been doing an amazing job, and one weekend doesn't change that at all.
I hope you have a lovely time with the alpacas, that sounds amazing!3 -
How you felt at the weekend is just like our Son and us. I had a video call with him last night and we talked through how we are feeling. Not much consolation but I think lots of people are feeling it. No bright ideas from me but just to say it is normal and you are not alone. Just keep plodding. You will feel better.Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

This weather isn't helping either. I don't think I'd have been able to get out to post a letter if I knew I was going to get soaked xMortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

Thanks so much. Your words brought so much comfort and support and I do appreciate it. MSE forums are such wonderful places aren’t they? I’ve had so much generously shared wisdom and strength from them.
I absolutely broke myself writing my methodology and had my meeting today with my tutor who said she was really impressed with the quality. I’m feeling pretty proud of myself. I’ve still got a lot of hard work to go but I’m definitely getting there. Baby steps.Lockdown for another month is going to be tough. I’m bubbled with my mum and her post polio syndrome is bad at the moment so I’m glad she comes over most nights and lets me cook her dinner as I don’t like her wobbling round cooking. We are so lucky to still have her and for my kids to get such a close relationship with their grandma. I’m so scared she will get covid but we are being very careful to try to protect her.I’ve had a £50 payout from YouGov which I’ve spent on a lovely rainbow rug for our living room. I’m hoping to brighten up the house to make it a cheerier place to be over winter, particularly over the next month. I also got three fluffy hot water bottles with a £15 BetterPoints supermarket voucher I earned from our dog walks. I’m going to put them on the sofa and the armchair in the living room to make it cosy, like heated cushions!
I hope you all stay safe and well, particularly over this next month. All the best to you lovely lovely people.“Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming” 🐠https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6098084/discount-duck-s-quest-for-mortgage-freedom#latest6 -
That is a lovely idea using your payouts to make your home warm and cosie.
Congratulations on the brilliant feedback for your methodology.
You are doing amazingly, looking after your children and your Mum, studying - just make sure you look after you.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

Oooh can I ask where you got your rainbow rug from? Love anything rainbow!Well done on your methodology! You’re doing brilliantly2
-
Thanks both! The rug was from Rugs Supermarket on Amazon, Riotlady. It’s arrived today and I’m really happy with the quality and the colours. It makes the living room so much more cheery. My bf and I broke up, which I’ve been a bit down over but it was the right thing. Nothing nasty or acrimonious, just a realisation that he’s not going to be ready to be part of our 2.4 family for years, and having been dating 3 already I’m not up for being left dangling around long term. I love him but I wanted a life partner not a visitor that pops in here and there. If I’m going to be doing everything alone I’d rather know I’m alone than have false hope that someone else may or may not join in depending on if they feel like it. I offered to hold on and not make any big decisions until the new year but he rightly said nothing will be different then. So I ripped the plaster off instead of dragging it out. It has taken a lot of counselling and many years but I can now say that I know I’m worth more than someone’s half effort if I’m putting in my all.My silly big German Shepherd is cuddly enough that I’m mostly not lonely. He sleeps on my feet now which I love, I’m sleeping better than I have in years because it’s so secure knowing he’s on the bottom of the bed. Dating is overrated 😂“Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming” 🐠https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6098084/discount-duck-s-quest-for-mortgage-freedom#latest5

I'm sorry about BF DD, it's so hard when you are more committed and want more than the other person. Dogs are so much more loving than people. Big hugs xMortgage start date Nov 2014 - £90,545 over 25 years
Re-mortgage Oct 2017 - 78,295 over 23 years

I've spent the evening reading all through your diary DD. Although I'm sorry to read the latest update
I used to date someone who only wanted to put half the effort in, and in all honesty I wish I'd ended things with him far sooner than I did instead of hanging on in the hope he might change.
You are, absolutely, worth 100% of another person's effort. I've subscribed to your diary and will cheer on your MFW journey"You won't bloom until you're planted" - Graffiti spotted in Newcastle.
