Really busy week at work, all our London DR centres are now occupied as companies move into their dedicated spaces.
NW wrote to say that they'd decided to reduce the monthly payments rather than the term for the quarterly OP... Cue one phone call and they'll change it to reduce the term. So a partial win there and theory proved!
2 TT this week to savings and mortgage, another days interest saved! 🎉
I've been drip feeding into the SIPP and it's still scary how it's still in red...
Can't say I'm really surprised and it will take a few more weeks to drip feed in and top up the equity funds.
I think* I'm going to leave the bond funds until later as they seem to be holding their own, so the discount will come when the world goes back to being normal.
(*but that may change, or not, I don't know!).
Topped up the freezer today, thinking of painting an "Arkwright's" (or maybe a poundland 😂) sign on the front door as we're defo set for shopping for 3+ weeks now. Has anyone else been watching the "Back in Time" series on the corner shop? Takes me back (well not before the 70's....! 😱🤣)... Though don't remember them selling draught beer...
DD flying visit tomorrow on way back home, which will be nice. Prepared a cot for her in the garage if she shows any symptoms though...If it's not adding up, compound it!4 -

I'd love a cot my own in the garage to get away from our 3 at times!!! I recall one time when I nipped in the garden to do some 'crucial jobs' and was woken 2hrs later having a snooze on the trampoline!Thankfully I have a little pooch to walk to get me out at critical times!!MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......6

Trampolines eh, I've not seen one of them in ages. They must still be hibernating round these parts!

So I was going to renew my car insurance last weekend, but, er, didn't...
(I blame the Apollo 11 doc on Netfix, so there! 🤣)
Renewed this afternoon, plus breakdown insurance for both cars from April 1st.
Saved £8 on insurance, but TCB on top.
Saved £4 on breakdown and TCB on top.
We're using Emergency Assist this year, as there is no claiming the cost back like with Autoa1d who we've used previously.
In other news, it's roast chicken tonight, which may clash with DD arrival.
As she's vegan, we may have to use the garage option...
(To be fair, it is a nice garage, no... I mean..., actually she's OK with us meat eating heathens! 😀)
This (the chicken, not DD) will then become a pho on Monday and a chinese or curry on Tuesday.
These will obviously be cooked by Chef Mrs Grogged and not by your humble burnt toast, smoke alarm and madly flapping a tea towel Mr Grogged...
Also got to pay in a tax refund (£30), which also came with a demand (£190), but that'll be through salary.
Don't get why they couldn't take one from the other...
Thanks another 5 and a bit days of interest gone...
...and I want to play with my spreadsheet (again!)...
I forgot to say that our Thursday music night is going through the American top 100 albums.
We skipped a few as they were,er..., !!!!!! or we'd heard on the UK top 100.
Best of the night was ZZ Top, but I see a lot of Country and Western coming up... 🤠If it's not adding up, compound it!5 -
So DD arrived just before dinner, she brought a vegan pho takeaway.
We all got to eat together which was nice. 😁
Watched "I think we're alone now", which personally I thought was slow. Interesting premise though.
Earlyish night as dropping her off at station for 6am train home.
Too early to go back home, so had McD on way to work.
She called mid afternoon to say had passed her driving test 🎉
She then found her car insurance nearly tripled when she told insurer she's passed... 💷💷💷😲
TT £3.26 to mortgage.
Chicken pho for dinner, looking like Chinese chicken curry tomorrow.
Wondering if will be sent home tomorrow as part of the new working from home movement.
ETA: no one has to stay in the garage...If it's not adding up, compound it!4
