Good news - no leaks this morning (and the light works 😂).
Following @coldcazzie lead the OP pot is now the SHTF pot.
Also decided to include the shiny things pot, so a new tablet will have to wait... (It was a want not a need anyway).
Cleaned Mrs G car yesterday afternoon ready for its MOT and annual service today, not expecting any surprises (apart from the bill 😞) as it only potters around for shopping, etc.
Tried out my new ground coffee today, a work colleague got me some from costc0. It comes in what is to me an oil drum sized tin, so should do me for the rest of the year. Much better value than the 250g bags from the supermarkets.
Better go and wake the boss and start the day proper like.
(One of the joys of early bird vs night owl is I get some me time every morning 😴)
Take care everyone. If it's not adding up, compound it!5 -
Hope everyone is safe and well.Day started out confusing me as by the time I’d got out of bed and down stairs I’d lost an hour… Should have remembered about the clocks going forward. Doh! 🙄By blatantly stealing South_coasts Inside and Outside idea, in true Sesame street style todays post is brought to you by:The Outside 😷Went to the amusement park that is now M0rrisons – half the car park is now a maze of barriers that you have to snake your way through to win a trolley and a golden entry ticket. Spent 20 mins walking to the door and we’re in! 20 mins of supermarket trolley dash, 10 mins queuing to pay and we’re out!Game 1 complete, 85% of prizes claimed, now onto game 2…Mr Ald1 doesn’t have a queue… it could be a trap… but no, we’re in and off, collected remaining prizes and off home for a new personal best! Can’t help but think that Mr M pricing is higher than it was. We shop there infrequently, but still it seemed a lot more expensive… 🤔The Inside 👩👨Not a lot to report here as I’m still at work…Have prepped my WfH office (other end of dining table) as Mrs G is home based so has the office. 🙁Did manage to catch up on task master brilliant YouTube challenges, people are so imaginative! 😁😂Also watch the ch5 murder mystery programme, wished the cast could have killed the celebs – would have been more entertaining. Still enjoyable guff though. Will pay for 2 months of now tv as Westworld has started again! 😁😁😁The Workside 👩💼👨💼This has been crazy busy as my day job now includes crisis management team and BC silver team duties. All general offices closed and staff WfH.We’re mothballing our centres, except London ones which still have key financial workers in them.Still need weekly visits to ensure we don’t come back to legionella when they reopen.Feels weird being in a centre that usually has 60+ people in it with just 4 of us left…At least social distancing isn’t a problem! 😄On Friday we found out we’re going to pin up a call centre for the NHS, so Birmingham centre will also now be open. The MSE side 🏆Like nearly everyone else I'm planning to stockpile OP into EF and return to BAU later in the year.Have TT a days interest to mortgage and some pennies to savings.Need to go through budgets again. My crystal ball says I will have many NSD in my future…Have managed to keep up to date with peoples diaries – sorry if I’ve not posted as much, mainly lurking…But I did manage to finish shangaijimmy’s diary, where I was pleased to see that he got out of funding circle.Anyway, keep safe everyone. If it's not adding up, compound it!5

Loving the steal, you did it much better justice than I did 😂
Had to stare at the letters BAU for ages before I clocked what it meant - all I could think of was Criminal Minds and the Behavioural Analysis Unit! The real LOL in that is that it's been my business's catchphrase of choice for the last 9 months 😂!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)
Cleared 🧚♀️🧚♀️🧚♀️!!! In 5 years, 1 month and 29 days
Total amount repaid: £72,307.03. £1.10 repaid for every £1.00 borrowed
Finally earning interest instead of paying it!!!5 -
Great post, grogged! I do have an unbelievable urge to watch Supermarket Sweep now! 😂Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.
Starting Mortgage Balance (June 2019) £72,000.
Aiming to be mortgage free by my 40th birthday, June 2026!4 -

Office 365 home or G00gle one?
So, looking at the budget in September our O365 renews.
We quite like it as for the price you each get a lot of storage (which we do use) and the office apps.
However... We mainly use a tablet or Chromebook, so it would seem to make more sense to go G00gle as one drive is often not as seamless as it should be.
We can use Libre Office on the PC, which is free and does everything we need.
Is anyone a non Office user using sheets or Libre, and what's your experience?
I've got 6 months to ponder, so not in a rush.If it's not adding up, compound it!3 -
Just got to the end of your journal. 🙂I succumbed to Office 365 after using the Apple versions for years. The main reason was while you can convert pages into word format, the formatting doesn’t always work. Really pleased with Office 365 so far and haven’t used the apple versions since I bought 365. Never used google version so can’t comment on that.2

Right, food, what is it good for! absolutely a few meals (with apologies to Frankie 😁).
So tonight we had a roast beef dinner, which tomorrow will be a chilli (as we need to finish the red wine... Obvs! 😉🍷) and Tuesday it will become a pho. Wednesday is a Chinese (to finish off the Chinese veg).
Then we'll be into the freezer. Not planning on going out again this week. Just wondering how the frozen milk will go...If it's not adding up, compound it!5
