Another tip run today - a very tatty old double mattress, 2L of old kitchen oil and a car battery.
Yesterday bough new trousers for my dinner jacket - it would appear I have spread during lockdown...
Have a black tie awards ceremony in London coming up soon.
As we were at Marks&Sparks, we bought some duck for dinner today as a treat, together with apple pie for afters.
MrsG dentist appoint went well, one tooth topped up with filling again.
Apparently they did stab her (her words) three or four times with the anesthetic, so her gum is still sore today.
The needle was THIS BIG!(or maybe bigger, definitely not smaller).
I think the poached egg on crumpets has worn off, so time for a restorative bourbon biscuit and a cuppa.
Take care, G.If it's not adding up, compound it!7 -
Ooh, I've often wondered about poached egg on crumpets! Do the crumpets retain the yolk, or does it seep out of the bottom like butter does 🤔?Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)
Cleared 🧚♀️🧚♀️🧚♀️!!! In 5 years, 1 month and 29 days

On a normal crumpet there can be seepage.
You're better to have two crumpets or one giant one to be sure.If it's not adding up, compound it!3 -
Thanks 😀Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

It seems I've been doing MSE all wrong...

So, as I'm in a huff about YG (one survey away from payday and no surveys...), I've signed up to prol1f1c following suggestions from @LadyWithAPlan and @South_coast.
What a faff, seemed more info needed than to open a bank account.
Then I had to signup to PP, which needs to monitor my bank account for 90 days for fraud protection...
Donor account has had one transaction this year, which was PP to validate the account, hopefully I pass the test!
But, I have done a survey and been credited 70p, so £4.30 to go before I get £5 and can test cashing out.
Overall, counted as a win.
The only issue I'm having is it won't accept a postcode in the (many, many) "About You" questions, all ideas gratefully accepted!
On Friday we went to Brum to visit the W1ng Y1p chinese superstore to do our (delayed) annual purchase of those more difficult to get items. Our freezer is now topped up with loads of prawns, which are twice the size and half the price of what we can get locally. Bought lots of vegan staples as well, which will be part of DD Xmas gift.
In "how clean is your house" news, I've bought a drill brush set to try and speed up cleaning stubborn stains on the hob splashback.
It seems that the splashback tiles always get grubby no matter how quickly or much we clean up after cooking...
A random purchase after seeing one of our YT channels use one to clean the carpets in a new camper van they'd bought, and then YT being YT, suggested other videos that featured cleaning, so now I own a drill brush set...
Have a lovely BH and take care, G.If it's not adding up, compound it!4 -
Prolific will be worth it in the long run! Well done for passing the first test of setting up the account 🤣!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

Sorry it was a pain with prolific. I guess cos the pp set up. But I promise it's worth it. Just pop on there thru out the day
I have never heard of a drill brush set. Will google. But Baltazar my robot vacuum has definitely changed my life so hopefully this will be great for you
That wy store is huge! I used to go to Chinatown a lot for food. I am. Now very lucky as every supermarket with exception of Asda is walking distance
Happy SundayDON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.
