Grogged said:Now I'm able to get out and about made a few CS and tip runs.
Managed to get rid of nearly all our old clothes, recycling and stuff that we've not been able to do during lockdown.
Feel a lot better for it and so does the garage.
Have a black tie do in September, so going to dust off the old DJ and see if it still fits, been nearly 2 years since it last had its yearly outing!
Other than that, been catching up on the more prolific diaries.
Now for a quick weekend spreadsheet update and then the rest of the day is available for MrsG's lists...3 -

Maybe it's just code for I want to be able to put my car in there so I don't have to scrape ice off in winter!!

I had an unexpected early transfer from my works pension to the SIPP yesterday.
I trim my work pension every time it gets above £1,000 as we get better returns from the SIPP.
This time the transfer went through super quick.
So this morning, as it's free trading day tomorrow, I adjusted the trades to take account of the unexpected transfer payment.
No idea why I'm more excited by this than normal, maybe something to do with not being able to do it last month..
Take care, G.If it's not adding up, compound it!3 -

Not worked for an employer for a long time but seeing theur contributions or matching must be extra exciting.
DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

I'm on the cusp of a YG payout, just another 185 points to go, hopefully one survey between me and a £50 OP...
At the rate they're coming in at I suspect this won't be until September.
MrsG lost a filling yesterday (careless I know).
Amazingly she's booked in for Friday, we thought it would be weeks.
This will be her first visit in nearly two years, after they closed for emergencies only.
Did the CC money shuffle this morning and it looks like we'll get a £10 Amaz voucher as well.
We put our normal shops and subscriptions on it, so it pays us about £50 a year in vouchers.
Enjoy your day, looks like another warm, but overcast one here.
Take care, G.If it's not adding up, compound it!5 -
Glad you are making CCs work for you not against you.
Good that Mrs G got an appointment so quick...
Hope you get to cash out of the survey site soon.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Thanks @savingholmes, I like that a big chunk of our monthly spending earns interest until card is paid.
I find that YG is either feast or famine. We were best buddies a few months ago, now not so much! 😟
Still, can't complain about free money.
Tomorrow is pointless meeting Friday, so lots to look forward to there as everyone checks in on what they did this week. Thank goodness we get to do it again on Monday when we say what we're going to do next week... Gotta love a corporate culture...
Maybe I should take up knitting like Tom. 🤔😆If it's not adding up, compound it!4
