The ceiling level beyond the extension is, by and large, where the ceiling should be in the main building.  Creation of the void space where one meets the other is an inevitable implication.  It doesn't look great, granted, unless one is a fan of those over-cab shelves one finds in big Transit vans.
LOL.  I bet the architect’s drawing had philodendrons, pothos and ferns in that bit rather than luggage and co-op carrier bags. But it’s clear from the ‘garden’ that the current owners aren’t keen on green. They’re loft-livers forced to own a semi.

Am I the only one who thinks in about 18 months time there’s going to be a small industry in people setting up to fix malfunctioning bifold doors? And in ten years you’ll be able to employ a company to make them go away, like artex.

Oh I SO agree about bifold doors. Neither use nor ornament if you ask me. Even with global warming, there's a limit to how often you get the sort of weather that justifies opening the whole side of a house and when it is warm enough you just end up with a room full of flies.

Bit of a time warp with pine cladding, swirly carpets and chick tiles!

Love the modesty panel in the bathroom Pic 18. Also features a convenient seat for easing oneself into the bath and a few handily-placed tiles for scented candles to aid the overall ambience...

This is rather lovely with a bit of 70s retro furniture. I particularly like the rocking chair in the bedroom. The proximity to the M1 and some sort of depot is not quite so lovely.
