This one’s ornate. And only a bit more expensive than the one with the 8’11” rooms. https://inigo.com/sales-list/dean-road?utm_source=Inigo&utm_campaign=331d6454b4-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2023_06_06_12_00&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_-331d6454b4-%5BLIST_EMAIL_ID%5D

and it says it’s council tax band D
The formica kitchen with the dropping doors is a little incongruous.

What would the point of buying it be? You probably can't build on it.
Quite a full explanation as to why someone might want it is given in the 1984 Twisted Sister record 'I Wanna Rock'...

Well, it won't go for 250k in Godalming - you'd be looking at 500k for buying and renovation.
I doubt it. A similar one closer to Guildford in a "ready to move in" condition went for well under £500k recently. This one is in the area known for subsidence and ground movement.

Ah, I've just looked at the map.  There is no way I would buy a house on that busy junction, even at that price.   Milford is generally very flat, as opposed to Godalming.
  • If you were having a extension would you keep the bathroom window if it was going to become a window to the new dinning room?

Anyone fancy a house with a 'dry dock'?

    https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/131970227#/?channel=RES_BUY

It hasn't really got a dry dock; the estate agent comes clean and confirms that it's a 'view of dry dock'.  Said feature isn't actually a dry dock, either, it's a large pond but pleasant nonetheless.  House itself is in a fabulous location but suffers an appalling layout.  There is no shared bathroom on the top floor, meaning that anyone sleeping in the secondary bedrooms either has to use the en-suite in the master or go downstairs.  The kitchen is on the ground floor, but there is nowhere logical on that level to eat.  One would either have to carry meals upstairs and eat in the sitting room or eat in the small study on the ground floor.  The kitchen itself doesn't appear big enough to contain a table.

I hope the colour of the water in the rather full dry dock in the 2009 Street View is inaccurate.

No, I've been there in real life and sometimes the water is that colour - algal bloom, possibly.  Top marks for the 'spot the young man chavin' it large', too!

An actual dry dock isn’t really a selling point is it - unless you want to watch somebody getting their bottom caulked?

A family member had a similar layout, I was sceptical but it was surprisingly liveable in a household with children with a mix of ages. I’m not keen on there being toilets behind seemingly every door though! I feel two is enough and the downstairs one should really be handy for those in the garage/garden.
