It does annoy me when looking for a house how small / hidden / non existent house numbers are, so this one has listened to my complaints.[Deleted User] said:
Maybe it's an opticians?
Perhaps this will become as popular as the over sized wall clocks?8 -
There's already a burgeoning fad for Brobdingnagian house numbers in Essex, at least. They seem to be popular with the grey plastic cladding and AstroTurf set. Perhaps there's a practical function?ProDave said:

The agents deliberately obscure the number in a futile attempt to stop you getting the address without contacting them first.ProDave said:

Very annoying as I always like to check Google Maps and what broadband is available before talking to them.0 -
No I mean when I am physically visiting a house to do a job, I am driving very slowly down the street looking for house numbers and very very few indeed have a house number that is visible and readable from the road. Often you only know you are getting close by a number painted on a wheelie bin.[Deleted User] said:

Our cul de sac is like that, I see delivery drivers get to our (numbered) gate post and stop dead to rethink how the street must actually be numbered, as it’s not conventional. Mail and parcels are frequently mis-delivered and we’ve currently got people doing ‘drive-by’ house viewings of our house because the estate agency has put an x on it on their map. The actual house for sale is about 100m away (and only three numbers higher), but some drivers don’t get that far as they can turn before they get to it.ProDave said:

I asked a neighbour if they’d considered numbering their house but apparently the only place it’s acceptable to put the plate is next to the front door and if the front door is on the side of the house there’s no point….Fashion on the Ration
