An air rifle I think, I can’t think why it has been left in the picture or understand how it was not thought to move it though.
Pre Charged Pneumatic (PCP) air rifle; the air bottle next to it is for re-charging it.
FYI: a PCP is perfectly legal to own or buy in England or Wales without any license (and with certain restrictions for 'ex-cons') provided it doesn't exceed the legal power limits.

Almost "boudoir"-like in all rooms, except the bedrooms which have plain walls and very restrained bed linen as far as flowers are concerned

It wasn't the legality I was thinking of rather the carefree attitude of leaving it on a counter top. Granted the house is not dressed for sale, nor does it look like a house children should be roaming free in. It also made me wonder if they have a problem with rodents…

From my experience most rural Mediterranean areas enjoy the pastime of shooting anything (usually non-human) that moves.

It's not worth the hassle. You wake up to find the rightful owners of the land turn up / find you're in trouble for buying off a sanctioned Russian all assuming the house doesn't collapse (as some near where my FIL lived did).

May you find your sister soon Helli.
    Sleep well.

Thanks. I did wonder how people found the property. I can't see any parking within the roundabout. None are listed as sold on zoopla, so I guess they are all still owned by the local authority.
