It wouldn't bother me - mind you, I grew up in a house which was at least 300 years old so it's a fairly safe bet that people had died there, and I think something like this where it's an eldery couple it's more sad than anything else.

I would mbe more wary if it had been a murder alone, I think, becuase of the possibility of ghoulish rubberneckers and the small possibility of whoever was responsible or their mates feeling they had unfinished business.

I'd be more than happy to be next to a cemetary or graveyard - nice quiet neighbours, very small risk of development, and plenty of wildlife. If I am ever rich then a former vicarage next to a church would be my ideal home!

so for whatever reason their lives ended, it looks like a decision arrived at consciously.

Consciously for one, he killed her via a blunt instrument to the head, then he committed suicide.

Perhaps a mercy killing or a worm-turning situation then. Are you going to keep drip-feeding, or will you give us the coroner's verdict?

I used to run a pub where it was well known that "unpleasant" punters ended up in a vat of boiling oil - some of the evidence was still there to see.

Wouldn't bother me at all. I live in a bungalow that's 65 years old and generally gets sold/probate every 5-10 years. I'd be absolutely shocked if some of the previous residents hadn't actually died here, suicide/murder or not - it makes little difference.

If the neighbours think less of me for buying that house, it would frankly be their problem.

Yes, for me it wouldn't be the fact someone had died there that would be the issue, it would bewhether there was any risk of living people creating issues as a result of the house's notoriaty - I'd feelthe same about buying a house that had recently been owend by a drug dealer or someone like that - I don't care but I wouldn't want visitors who don't know it's changed hands !

What I find strange is the occupant of that house has generally kept the inside of the house nice and clean and tidy, but every day looks out on a completely overgrown garden and does not do any basic gardening to keep the garden looking nice.
