I have been a long term lurking on this thread but not ever shared but I saw this house whilst looking online and I could not help but think of this thread so hope I do it right.

amongst other things spot the dinosaur!!!!

"The dinosaurs and dragon structures which are illustrated in the photographs do not form part of the sale but are available under separate negotiation."
Nah, don't want them.... and I'm willing to bet they won't take them!
What a ghastly old dump. 10/10  for that one teechur! :)

Oh no!! I think it's fabulous! The starry bedroom is to die for and I'd very much like the dinosaurs... :)
Well it's still for sale, non-compliant drainage and all, but there's one at the end of my field quite similar and that went recently for under £350k. It's drainage is pretty dodgy as well!

Fantastic house from April to October. Where would you live the rest of the year?

It's wonderful though more expensive than I'd have expected for the area. I'd have no problem living there all year round. Would very much enjoy watching the winter storms roll in. Being on the NC500 route wouldn't put me off either. I'd rather enjoy watching the vintage cars/bikes/etc going past in the summer. In fact, I might even offer cream teas and home made Rowies :)
I know someone on the NC500. It's not watching others enjoying themselves they dislike, it's all the picking up after them, some of it especially unpleasant!

We have a friend up that way too and yes- I see your point. Perhaps I'd lay on toilet facilities as well as cream teas!

The house is a mile or two down a backroad off the NC500 so not really "on" it anyway.

But it's not "ON" the NC500 route.  It is a few miles up a dead end single track road, almost the last house on that road. NC500 traffic will not be passing unless they are having a nosey detour or a camper van looking for a wild camping spot.

If you wanted to offer B&B it is close enough that you could put a sign at the end of the road to entice a few travellers to come and stay with you.

And agreed it is priced for a better connected house in a more populous area. (i.e. nearer to Inverness)

Reminds me of the Falkland Islands - very few trees grow there because of the strong winds.  Wonder if that's the case here as well?

"The artificial lawn is fuss free", assuming you've trained that dog not to use it like any other lawn...

And you never want the joy of hearing hedgehogs snuffling about.  Would take minutes to whizz a flymo over that patch  :'(

Pic 1, the steps at the change of level look like an accident waiting to happen.  In the dark or half cut I can see someone forgetting the bottom step does not go the full width and getting a nasty surprise stepping down from the end.  I am surprised building control passed that.

Pic 5, whats with the change of slope of theroof ridge between this house and the one to the right?
