Also I've always regarded lounge and sitting room as two different terms for the same thing. Saying the house has both is a bit like saying it has 1 toilet and 1 loo.3 -

Plenty of people refer to the main room of the house as the lounge, IME the word is actually more commonly used in that context than sitting room.General_Grant said:
