PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING: Hello Forumites! In order to help keep the Forum a useful, safe and friendly place for our users, discussions around non-MoneySaving matters are not permitted per the Forum rules. While we understand that mentioning house prices may sometimes be relevant to a user's specific MoneySaving situation, we ask that you please avoid veering into broad, general debates about the market, the economy and politics, as these can unfortunately lead to abusive or hateful behaviour. The garage at the flat I shared with my ex had a garage at the back. I could park into the garage but no room to open the door to leave. The car was a first gen Vauxhall Corsa. Garage was an optional extra when the flats were built in 1979/80/ Hence why some properties had no garage, just a concrete base. Someone I knew bought a property like this from new in the early 1980s. It cost them £16000. The garage would have cost them £730. Could not afford it.0 -

My first thought was the house was a bespoke build with wheelchair access being a key factor but the design of the bathroom doesn't fit with that theory.0 -
