Yes, you can see it in the virtual tour and it did strike me as odd although, to be fair, they are not specifically marketing these as for the elderly.davidmcn said:
Think that's a building regs thing now to have level(ish) access to the front door? Other than being bungalows I don't think they're particularly accessible (e.g. bathroom not pictured but described as shower over a bath).GaleSF63 said:
But why have a ramp up to the front door, but a step from the back door?Dandie89 said:
As far as what old people might be satisfied with, I'm no spring chicken myself and can see these offer their conveniences but I hope I never get to the stage where I would not wish to have a little charm to my home and can't really imagine desiring one that rather resembles one of the garages these ones appear to be replacing.1 -
Surprised to see this central London flat fall from £1.125m in 2014 to 795k now.
Looks like my idea of a properly proportioned flat!

Unusually it has share of freehold. Perhaps there's a big bill about to land.5 -

I was searching for the charges. Just curious really and annoyed that estate agents are always so coy about it.Poster_586329 said:

Toilets that dump on the tracks still not fully phased out.NaughtiusMaximus said:
There are probably still a few trains like that now. I think it was as recent as the late 80s before trains in the UK started to be built with toilets which collect the deposits in a tank rather than just flushing them onto the track.ProDave said:SoozyJ22 said:
It made me think of train toilets, especially some unpleasant ones I've experienced on overnight trains in Asia.ProDave said:
Am I the only one reminded of those horrible uninviting public toilets with a stainless steel pan?Oxon said:“Individual design”

Ah train toilets. Remember the ones when I was a boy, you pushed a button on the floor, a flap opened and you could see the track going by down a long tube. No wonder they said "do not use while in the station"

Serious wallpaper/carpet clashing there, esp the first one! Wonder if the neighbours were best friends and discussed wallpaper and carpet purchases in the 50s/60sPatr100 said:Two "time capsule " houses , both for sale at the same time and next door to each other...from the same Estate Agent.

Goodness, I thought they were the same house! They're like twins aren't they? I'd love to know what the back story is. Can't believe there isn't a connection. Perhaps the owners were indeed best friends (or siblings possibly?) Blimey though- London prices never fail to make my eyes water...
